There is possibility but if u listen carefully ivankov mentions nerona imu sei and figerland garling sei in japnese. So in japnese "sei" is given to male. With that physics oda has given to imu I think imu might actually be male kid probably same or younger than luffy.

Imu just choose Lulusia because is close. That pause is for a dramatic effect. In the manga pannel, there is no sign of doubt or suspense, she/he directly says that.

@@mastouriedam5845 I don' think so. Because if you remember Episode 1089, when the marines says to gorosei that sabo is in lulusia they react like "¿lulusia? ¿Just now? How unfortunate". That means sabo in lulusia is after imu and the gorosei take the decision of destroy the island, without knowing of sabo's position previously.

In any other anime I would agree with you that Imu's pause before saying his reasoning for destroying Lulusia would be because they were lying, but this is One Piece. The anime is known to stretch several scenes, even to this day, so it's a lot more difficult to tell when it's intentional and when it's just dragging for time. I'm only mentioning this because in the Manga, Imu response was a lot more quicker.

About the "Godhead" titles for the elders, I think that was just a creative choice by the translators. Their titles in the original Japanese is "Bushin", which literally translates to something more like "war god". Personally, I think calling them war gods sounds more badass than what the official translation went with, but to each their own, I guess....

Don't know if you remember but just before they bombed lulusia (ep 1089 i think), the elders got Intel that sabo was also in lulusia. Then (I think) ju peter said: " that man truly is unlucky" Warcury responded by saying: " no, this is his destiny" So yeah, imu bombed lulusia because it was close. Sabo being also in lulusia just happened to be a coincidence

Your looking too deeply into the pause, it was just something the anime did for special effect. Imu chose Lulusia for the reason they stated, it was close. Plus there’s no reason for them to lie to the Five Elders who are completely subservient to them.

It's 900 years ago, they're referred to as the twenty kingdoms, king could just be a generic term for ruler here. Not saying you're wrong, I don't expect Imu to be a woman, but still it's not definitive.

The theory that Imu wants Lily because Imu wants Lily's body is not all that ridiculous. I will tell you that we do not currently know. St. Imu of the Nerona dynasty was translated as a monarch in the manga, not King or Queen. The op-op fruit, the fruit Law has, is the fruit that can grant eternal life, in case you forgotten. We learned about that way back at Dressrosa. Imu didn't know Sabo was headed for Lulusia. They really did target it because it was close. The anime muddies the waters a bit. This was pretty much one chapter of the manga. So was the last episode. That's how much information we've been getting in Egghead. Next week is a recap. The way it's going now, the recap usually precedes a crazy episode. I expect that to continue.

The Celestial Dragons are referred to as the gods of the world. The Gorosei are above all the other CD’s and the title “Godhead” is a symbol of that. What they’re the “Godhead” of is what they oversee and as such have the highest authority over.

I’m sorry but it’s just so funny to me that the top villains in this story set up 20 years ago are named Jay, Ethan, Marcus, Peter, and Top. And just in case you didn’t catch it, Imu didn’t choose Lulusia because it was in open rebellion. They literally chose it because they could see the weapon work. It’s colder and so much more evil than the R.A. assumes. Also, I know Garling looks blonde but I think his hair color is the color of red hair after it goes gray. We only got a couple of panels of him from the chapter this episode adapts but after those two panels, Garling was already one of my favorite characters, just based on the character design.

The pause is a pacing issue which is common in One Piece. As for the destruction of Lulucia was picked before Sabo called.

A better translation would be Imu of the Nerona ‘family’ not ‘dynasty’. So Nerona is another family of the original 20 families of the world government.

Interesting theory. Sometimes I think that whoever used to have Law's devil fruit back then swapped personalities and Imu is another person who happens to be inhabiting Lili's body. That way it could be a half-truth when they say they don't know what happened to Lili (i.e. her consciousness/soul) after she left Mary Geoise. I'm sure there's a reason but I don't know why they chose "godhead" when talking about the Elders, instead of a more obvious translation. You can look it up the translation for the word yourself in any Japanese-English dictonary online. It's 武神. Imu decided to hit Lulusia before they knew Sabo was there. Remember how in this ep Saturn said he'd make the necessary preparations? 1089 happens later and in that ep, the Elders say it was bad luck for Sabo to happen to be there. I'll just add Figarland Garling and the Holy Knights are an example of what you were talking about with concepts that get mentioned only every now and then so you might forget. Just want to remind you to remember them for future. :)

So we finally get the Gorosei names; as it turns out, the original translation of Gorosei as 'Five Elder Stars' was misleading, it was actually 'Five Elder Planets' (though it does irk me that some are properly spelled and some are muddled a bit); Saturn, Mars, Ju Peter, V. Nus(juro), and Warcury. We also meet Figarland Garling, the Figarland family was mentioned in the movie One Piece Red. The word 'Godhead' exists in real life, it's often considered a mantle for a god or the aspect of god(s), since Celestial Dragons are referred to as 'Saints' its used as a matter of hierarchy, the top of their departments. Imu still remains a mystery to us all, being a body snatcher is a theory, another is that they're immortal due to Law's fruit - which was for a long time kept in Marejois remember. But no such answers arise, they show as frequently as Shanks does.

Imu really testing Mother Flame to Lulusia because its distance is close. No other reasons. However there were two coincidence: there was a rebellion to the WG + Sabo was there. That's why the Gorosei (Saturn) was saying, "What a coincidence. He's (Sabo) an unlucky person (for being in Lulusia)" when they tapped Sabos's call to Kamabakka Kingdom.

After I got done watching this episode I looked for a clip to where we last saw Vivi in the news place. And it looks like she knows the full truth (I assume) because the news guy said she’d been crying about it, and with her that close to them in doubt she wasn’t either in the room or out of earshot of what Wapol had to say. 😭 I just hope she doesn’t blame Sabo either way. 🤧(but I mostly hope she knows the full truth)

The way I see the Imu/Lulucia thing is that Imu has a reason for erasing it that we aren't supposed to know yet, and it was merely a coincidence that Sabo was nearby. The Elders were happy to find out that he was thinking that it lines up perfectly...but as we know now Sabo got away lol Imu probably got what they wanted out of the elimination, but once again we don't really know much about what the endgame is here.

It's okay to make some theory, I also think the same thing, Nefertari is closely related to ancient Egyptian story, in the film The Mummy Returns, Imhotep does something unexpected, he summoning the spirit of his lover to be put into the body of someone who is similar to his previous lover (reincarnation), It's possible that Imu will do the same thing to Vivi, cause Lily and Vivi have a similiar characteristic/body (reincarnation), which Imu wants to put Lily's spirit into Vivi's body so that Lily can back to life.

I feel like the weapon they used was an ancient weapon and Vegapunk's "eternal flame" could maybe be a power source? That would kinda answer Dragon's question of "if they had a weapon why wouldn't they use it until now?" It could be a weapon that requires a TON of power and Vegapunk's "eternal flame" was newly created. Having Sabo escape, the island being close by and the ongoing current rebellion give's them a few reasons to want to test out the power source and see if Vegapunk was.... punking them lmao (but i hope Vegapunk is doing a big brain play and making the flame work once but then never again so now Imu thinks the weapon will work but wont. Poor Lulusians tho ;-;)

One of my favorite Lily theories is that after somehow scattering the poneglyphs (Which there's another theory going around that I absolutely love on how she may have done this) instead of going back to Alabasta, she fled to the calm belt (Perhaps protected from the sea kings due to the ancient mermaid princess' powers) and formed the now female only nation of Amazon Lily.

Because ancient kingdom has already been destroyed and that technology has already lost So maybe imu managed to get an ancient weapon but he/she didn't have power source to activate it. Because we've not a good female antagonist in years, 2. oda tends to name his female after birds emu is a bird though spelled different it sounds the same, 3. oda once stated when film red was in devolvement he was a sick of drawing legendary old man characters. 4. We already have the five elders I think it makes more sense for imu to be a a woman than to have a 6th old man as the ruler of the world. And my final point. This fanbase is beyond thirsty Yamato skyrocket into popularity and the amount of fan art and P**n are is ridiculous, not that I would know

Also it make sense that Imu is a male that was in love with queen lily but was rejected. Probably around the same age as Luffy & Vivi age but has remain the same for centuries. Also the dynamic of combat exist too in which Oda doesn’t really like having Luffy beat up women. They have to look a certain way like Alvida even still for long drawn out fights he avoids this.
