My Old VHS Tapes ... Maybe because of our behaviour we are fast becoming "mere humans" in a world devoid of the diversity that we were once just a minor percentage "of". Of all, and everything we do, discluding diversity in favour of a monoculturality mentality that forces everything else out in favour of humans is ultimately limiting, and an incessant push toward A.I. is ensuring our demise as a species. One that is not truly worthy of existence. A visionary repeatedly saying mere humans is a humility perspective. But I could be wrong about this.

@@kat7973 her whole talk was inspirational but I did not understand the last part of what she said.. “Create your one folds” …I feel like she is referring to Origami? The art she created? Is this right?

+J Blank / Perhaps, but sometmes art's only purpose is to exist for it's own sake. Peggy's art serves an even nobler cause than that. It serves the greater cause of bringing awareness to the plight of our endangered whales and dolphins, in the hope that it will spur others to take positive actions to protect these beautiful creatures.

"...sometimes art's only purpose is to exist for it's own sake". I disagree with you. Who says your art won't inspire people in 100, 200 or 1000 years in the future? Art, just like the rest of culture and even mankind... isn't stoic nor stagnant. It means different things for people through time. None of the art made till this day exists for it's own sake. It's aesthetically and conceptually impossible. Its purpose is to communicate the inner universe within a person, made by emotions, ideas, hopes, terrors and dreams. All of them evolve. Respected art could fall into oblivion and vice versa... but never cease to exist. Art can serve noble ideals, yes. But it can also be used as a tool to denounce what us human beings are doing wrong and portray this behavior in a more "noticeable" way. You know what they say: an image speaks a thousand words. Also a sound, a body movement, a theatrical gesture.

Thank you, Peggy, for what you are doing to bring awareness to the murder of these beautiful beings. My high school thesis in the 1980s was about whales and I had MAGICAL encounters with wild dolphins in Hawaii in the spring of 2002. They are advanced, loving, spiritual, intelligent beings that need to be saved.

Strong powerful message HOWEVER, this talk is more about whales than it is about following your passion. She brings up living your passion in the last two minutes of the video.
@espi0n965 ай бұрын
She gave a detailed, contextual representation of her experience, to encourage people to follow their passions. It was only through her love and innate appreciation for whales, that this passion led to her to act on those feelings and create the paintings, which led to her building a career unique and just for her. She didn’t intend for that outcome, she just followed her passion for the sentient, spiritual existence of these animals and got to start developing her success on her own terms, doing what she loves. The point of her being so detailed about whales, is what acts as her credibility and backs up her philosophy about following your passions and how it can unexpectedly change your life, the way it did for her. Her talking points were set up cohesively to make people have an in-depth understanding of how passionate she is about whales, and to encourage people to be proud of and pursue whatever their passionate about as well. 😊
