As a husband or wife, you have a unique opportunity to show love and grace to your spouse. On this two-day Focus on the Family broadcast, Brad and Marilyn Rhoads openly share their terrible first year of marriage and how God intervened to introduce the concept of grace in their relationship. You’ll better understand how marriage is a picture of the gospel and learn ways to honor your spouse in a more grace-filled, loving manner.

This is NEEDED truth. For years I’ve read many performance based marriage books and they left me discouraged and feeling hopeless. Right relationship with Christ and grace based living is biblical. Thank you! This gives me hope for an almost thirty-nine year dysfunctional marriage.

Love this!! Now if only I can apply it. 😔 I have such a hard time remembering how Im supposed to act as a Christian wife when everyday frustrations attack. Christ alone is my hope and strength. 🙏

They should call it marriage coaching, not marriage counseling. Because every relationship needs a hand at some point in time.

So true! Grace Marriage is a pathway of marriage discipleship. It's investment and enrichment which will help avoid crisis.

This all sounds great, but when you’re poor, there are no date nights. Movie nights. Go out to dinner nights. No babysitters that work for free, etc.

I understand what your saying,to have a date-night, you dont have to go out ,try to put the kids to bed earlier, have a picnic in the the living room, watch a movie on your television,or DVD even if you've seen it a hundred times. They're about spending quality time with each other.

I suggest looking into Dave Ramsey! You don’t have to stay financially stuck. We got out of debt and are now building savings within in a couple years.

We would often trade baby sitters, brew coffee and go to the river and sit. When that was not possible, we made sure to have undistracted time after the kids went to bed. The point is to make one-on-one time an intentional part of your marriage. It's so easy for the busyness and demands of life to squeeze out our marriages.

You can talk on a bench while your kids play at a park, or McDonald's play structure. Or kids are 9,8, 6 and 2 and we also don't have much money. We've never had a babysitter, but we date at home. Or we talk while we walk. The baby is in the stroller and doesn't need to be watched and the older kids bike ahead of us.

As an atheist for 25 years. Then I became a Christian and dove deep. I had hopes Christians were doing things right but I found that I learned about healthy relationships through non Christians. 😮 They actually model God's design in some realms much better than faith based communities. That was a tough reality to reconcile. This shouldn't be.

And to some degree, that's why we wrote this book. Christians have largely become "conformed to the patterns of the world" as it pertains to marriage. We do marriage like everyone else does. We have such a great opportunity to not only learn what the grace of Jesus looks like but model it to those around us through our marriage. We appreciate your comment!

I agree !00%! The church is a MESS. Read " Pagan Christianity" by Frank Viola. That book may have some answers.

@@BookmarkthisLPR and the church is a mess because we as people are a mess. Change starts with each of us as individuals and that's why we need marriage discipleship inside the church. Solid marriages centered on Christ should be the norm.

@@PRESCRIPTIVELIVINGDIAGNOSEPRES Agree and sadly many leaders ( not all) are full blown narcissists that are not true shepherds- wolves building a business. The letters in Revelation are real!
