Awesome tutorial as usual with the DAX Master. Crystal clear and concise, breaking down and making calculate() just easy like taking breakfast in the morning. Bravo, Michell Peterson!

So I've watched several YT videos on this topic before and kinda understood it. But, having watched your video, I completely get it now! Thank you for a wonderful explanation with one glaring caveat -- forgetting Marco's name 😉

Great explanation, thanks! New to Power BI here, why not just ALLSELECTED() in case you need to respect a slicer in the future?

I just love it. Given the Knowledge that you have to others (the way you're explained, actually some Native English Power BI Speakers explain but I don't get their ascent of Language). But you are remarkable.

Hello Mitchell, I hope you are doing great. By the way, I love your courses and how you explain the concepts with simple terms. With that being said, I am just trying to wrap my head how these Filter functions( ALL, ALLSELECTED & ALLEXCEPT) works. From my general, conceptual understanding, I think it mainly used to control and limit "How" & "What" user can filter, when using external filters such as "SLICERS" & "TIMELINE". Please!!!, feel free to correct me if my conceptual understanding is inaccurate. Thank you.

Hi Mitchell Thank you for the explanation, could you please explain what happens when we pass parameters in ALL SELECTED. For Example If I pass a country to ALL SELECTED does that mean visual will remove all the filtering done by Country, but keep external country filter ? In this case, suppose if I apply another slicer in addition, would that apply too along with country, since we are specifying to keep external country filter, will it remove other slicers that are not country or keep them ? I am confused because when I Tried it out all my slicers worked on the visual including country that I passed as a parameter to ALL SELECTED. IF all Slicers will work, what's the point of passing parameters to ALL SELECTED. Thankyou in advance. (I enjoy your videos so much, very clear.)

Hi Mitchell, could you make a video showing the differences when passing a column or an entire table as for meter of ALLSELECTED. Tell us a bit about the shadow filter context and how it works with ALLSELECTED
