Our friend Roger asked us along on a trip he wanted to take on the longest day of the year - getting from one end of the country to another.
Many people do this by walking, cycling or evening running (!) but how long would it take to use schedule public transport - i.e. just buses and trains. Could we do it in less than 24 hours?
We also met by chance the amazing Tony - partially sighted with the assistance of his guide dog, raising money for the Guides Dogs charity. We're thrilled that he met his goal and got 50% more, well done Tony! His page is here: www.justgiving.com/fundraisin...
Thanks also to Karen & Phil for their assistance, and to Martin, Michael, Jamie and Chris for coming out to meet us too!

We thought of both of you yesterday: 1h50 of "Atlantic 'Roller' Coasters" blue bus ride from Land's End to St Ives... with pile-ups, back-ups, tight curves, epic hairpins, thick bushes, high hedges, 17% grades and counting, very close rooftops and granite walls but very placid cows. Better than the Tour de France. Those bus drivers are amazingly talented (and patient). Hats off!👍👌

Guide Dogs are wonderful service animals. Check in your local area. The dogs are retired after a certain age and they can use a loving after Home. Or you can train the Puppies. Some places can use more homes for the Puppies, learning what they will need to become Guide Dogs. Either way, you will have a wonderful dog for a few years.
