Been using Fenix lights for years......definitely among the best out there.

Had multiple people in the comments say that and the ones I've had have also been great.

Wife from dining room: is that another flashlight video? Me: [pauses video] No, dear, no more flashlights. This is a night vision enhancer set with a tactical red light for when we go camping!

Ive had one of these for a couple years. Very useful i use it backpacking in grizzly country for double use charging my phone and for light when needed. I keep it low just enough light and i can charge my phone multiple times. Also truck camping i stick it wherever i need. Ive had good luck with fenix ive got several of there headlights flashlights.

My CL28R just shipped yesterday. I’m anxious to see how it works out. May get the CL27R too. I’ve got quite a few Fenix lights, I really like them.

This one feels really solid. I've heard of Fenix of course, but this is my first. Enjoy that CL28!

That looks like a good light. The controls for brightness and tint are the best part. I have [more than] enough lights that will do similar type lighting, even the tripod or 1/4in socket, but not those controls. I recently used two lanterns that had a single control like that which adjusts from warm up to a maximum brightness with cool white, while I had a circuit breaker off. I also used some other lights, why not, I have them; and a Fenix HM65R-T headlamp. I was working to install an LED panel in my closet. After that, if I buy anything, it will be a higher step-stool. LOL. Handy enough to get it done, but not handy enough to get it done expeditiously. ;-) Thanks for the review.

No problem! Glad it was helpful!

The screw hole on the bottom is going to be a standard tripod fitting. Battery is a Fenix branded 5000mAh 21700, sounds like it can be changed with a spare. Fenix has many quality products from lanterns, keychain lights, to weapon mounts.

What is the reason it has adjustable color temperatures? thank you for the video
@AllThingsOverlanding4 ай бұрын
That’s a good question. I think it’s a preference thing, but for me, I’ll be using it for videos and I prefer a warmer, less harsh light for shooting videos at night.

@@AllThingsOverlanding Thanks for the quick reply. The best answer I came up with... Perhaps if you're in an area that has fog, warmer light doesn't reflect back as much as white light. Thus allowing you to see better. Same reason why fog lights on vehicles are yellow. That was my best guess.

@@beowolfso.6096 That makes sense too.
@alext84103 ай бұрын
@@beowolfso.6096 It's a matter of taste and task. Default color has been always warm yellow-orange (incan, fire, candle) and it's plesant to use it on the camping table, at home, just everywhere if you need a background light. Neutral is useful in almost all situations, it's universal, I call it default work light, it doesn't color things in yellow, good for walking in a forest, for renovation works, for crafting. Cold tint, in my opinion, is just for cold tint lovers, I can only find it usefull in some works like painting white wall. Cold is also brighter and some people like this effect, it shines and sparkles while reflecting from all surfaces. LED flashlights with adjustable tint color can deliver intermediate color, like slightly warm or warm-neutral, or pure-white-but-not-to-cold. These tints can be more comfortable for your eyes and you get more joy\saticfaction in a routine work. It's just in short :)

I thought the 27R has removable 21700?
@AllThingsOverlanding2 ай бұрын
It does have a 21700 battery and it can be replaced.

That's a super cool light! I know you don't have to cater to me, but I figure it didn't hurt to ask :) can you turn the volume down on your intro song? It seems to always be lower than the rest of the video and can be startling if I don't get it turned down in time. And I like the song!
@AllThingsOverlanding5 ай бұрын
Haha, nope, you're not the first one to mention it. Definitely been dialing it back more, but it just seems louder even though it's showing equal or quieter to the rest of the audio. I'll keep pulling it down. Let me know how it is on the next one you watch, :D.

@AllThingsOverlanding what's interesting is I was just listening to your "how technology changed the game" from 10 days ago, and it is much more balanced in that. I went back and played the beginning again to check. I remember my buddy in college was into radio and had a spot at the campus station. He told me they can adjust the volume at the radio station. So maybe it's something with the recorded volume of the song being higher than your voice? #StabInTheDark

@@jwmmitch yeah, I appreciate the feedback. The next couple of videos are already scheduled but give it a week and see if it gets better, haha. Thanks again!

What is the material of the front & rear case and handle?
@AllThingsOverlanding4 ай бұрын
I believe the case is metal (probably aluminum) and the handle is hard sturdy plastic.
