You can tell he’s finally play free and not scared ball. He’s not overthinking things n Brown has allowed him to play ball. Under Waldron he seemed to be playing scared n way to conservative.
@StewMain6Сағат бұрын
I think the conservative play was more Flus is influence and Waldron is a “yes” guy. Thomas Brown isn’t a yes man and tells Caleb to play his game but in control. I think we see this clash in the aggressiveness of Thomas Brown vs conservativeness in Flus from the 4th down delays in both the Packers and this game where the offense is looking to stay on the field and Flus is sending the special teams unit on the field.

The throw to Rome at the 19:51 mark, THAT's the Rome we were hoping to get in the draft. His percentage on 50/50 balls in college was incredible. Something in the 70 to 80% range but the Bears haven't really given him a whole lot opportunities to show off that skill set this year. Excited as hell to see it, damn that was an amazing catch!
@yawnn122 сағат бұрын
iirc, it was something like 75%. Among the "big 3," the next closest was Marv Jr. at 50% and then Nabers at 45%. I've been waiting to see it. Finally did. boy was that nice. Too bad they didn't come out with the win.

@@EverySingleDollarthis is precisely why Thomas Brown would get the HC nod over Ben Johnson. In this case, Brown might be an actual good option versus Bears flat passing on Jim Harbaugh by not evening entertaining a phone call in the offseason they hired Flus in. @randymelissabutton2159Сағат бұрын
I think the only reason we still see this team not getting blown out and making these games closer is because of the incredible ability that Caleb has, and while it might be too late this year to do anything about the playoffs, I think Caleb competing his butt off is starting to rub off on certain members (#2) and that will be contagious to both sides of the ball....
@threezysworld808912 минут бұрын
Bears are a year away. Next year everyone will say they came out of nowhere but the truth is they lost a bunch of games by a TD or less. They don't have many holes, just draft trenches and if they hit on 2-3 guys they could go from fringe playoff-ish to SB contention (not winning). They're mainly a few hits on picks in the trenches from being one of the better teams in the league. That's all in a vacuum, still have to worry about NFCN but regardless we have our QB. You cannot win without a QB.

Seeing that replay of the sack helps a lot. Maybe both guys rolling off their blocks threw Caleb off, definitely added a lot of pressure. But it was his only big mistake at the end of the game, and there were plenty of other mistakes from special teams that cost this one. I also think Eberflus should’ve kept the ball in Caleb’s hands and gone for it on 4th down in OT.

I've never seen him play before, in college or the pros so when I watched the game yesterday I just came from the perspective of being a hater lol. I was impressed though, that 2nd play you highlighted blew my mind. I couldn't even be mad that my Vikings got burned, I was just amazed he made that throw so perfectly. The first throw highlighted..ehhhh I dunno. I think 9 out of 10 times that throw gets picked or swatted down. He had a couple throws like that in the game. At any rate, I was impressed. If Chicago doesn't screw up building around him, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with for awhile.

The thing I'm most optimistic about is that there are obvious areas of improvement for Caleb and things he could have done differently/better even on the good plays and he still went 340yd/2TDs. I've been watching Bears since Bobby Douglas was back there looking ugly. with his 43% completion percentage a 1 to 2 TD to INT ratio. We have never had a QB that looks like Caleb. The thing that has me really really bummed is I'm not sure we can get the front office and coaching staff that a QB like Caleb needs to be a multi-SB winning QB. I guess we'll see.

Cherry picking the good throws (every high paid NFL QB should do anyway)... Consistency matters, he aint have it... With all the weapons he has, the great situation he was drafted in, NO, CW is not the answer... Yesterday he delivered against a prevent (you from winning) defense. Every NFL QB does pad stats in garbage time. Bears got lucky having MIN up against them, they love to spoil big leads (the GB game earlier in the season was the "masterpiece", even "better" than yeaterday)... Bears are 30th out of 32 teams in yards per pass play efficiency (that includes all guys, such as Levis, Brissett, Bryce Young, you name´em). Thats even worse than with all the shxx QBs CHI had since Jim McMahon, thats the cold hard truth. CW will bust. No tiny doubt about it. Its written on a big fat wall. Thank you for reading

Caleb played a great game, but he got lucky on some throws that should had been picked off. He overthrew the receiver and the safety dropped it. Another one Gilmore jumped the route and bounced off his hands. Vikings secondary always be dropping one or two picks a game. No wonder they are DBs and not receivers. Got no hands. lol
@Twigg40752 сағат бұрын
He made some incredible plays yesterday, but he also made some TERRIBLE ones. He airmailed three or four wide open receivers. He also took, three sacks? Tge worst one being in O.T. Just get rid of it to your RB in the flat! Instead, he holds it for like 10 secs, takes a sack and kills the drive.

@12:45 - that no grade was the 4th down where Flus didn't know what he wanted to do....brought out the FG team initially, then called them back to go for it. Play got in late, and everything was rushed, which you can see from the result of that play.
@jjc5407Сағат бұрын
Yep, Williams said he misheard the call from Brown and ran the wrong play as a result. Still so close to making it work. A high throw but a WR with Allen's reputation should have caught it. Allen had several passes he could have caught but didn't, ending with 9 from 15 targets.
