As an artist, I don’t think that’s really true. As an artist, when you admire and respect the individuality that sits behind artistry you wouldn’t dare take credit. You just..wouldn’t do something like that. Everyone is so unique. Ya gotta be kidding! 100% of Janet Jackson's success was due to Jam & Lewis's musical compilations and the marketing engine of her record company. Of course, her family name opened the doors, but she has no outstanding talent on her own. She doesn't have much of a voice and is literally whispering on those hits produced by Jam & Lewis. Her videos simply copied Michael's. She is not alone as Beyonce is probably the best example of the biggest star made by producers, not talent.

Janet is really the blueprint. I’m glad to see her on here because her videos were revolutionary. They have been referenced by Beyoncé, Britney, Rih, Gaga, Ciara, Tinashe, Mya… the list goes on and on. She heavily influenced what the music video genre is today. Which makes sense, because Blade Runner used the Bradbury as a filming location as the setting for one of the characters apartments. I've been to the Bradbury once when I was in LA, and the building is FANTASTIC, especially the central atrium. It's REALLY beautiful architecture.
