irise aboveitall literally 80% girls in my school got their hair done like that and it looked wack af because nobodies hair was super straight and this was middle school so we didn’t use flat irons. Not true. The most copied looks was the Bob: from the umbrella era, and the short asymmetric/under cuts from the Rated R? era I say this as a woman of African descent. Every woman I knew from the UK to the Caribbean were copying those styles. They were so iconic I can recall the stylists name off the top of my head: Ursula Stephens. Maybe the red hair appealed to the European demographic; but for everyone else of a similar heritage as Rihanna, her short cuts were major.

The looks showcased here aren't iconic; and shouldn't be referred to as such. Her most iconic looks were the short Bob from umbrella days and the short asymmetric and under cut styles. As a Black woman EVERYONE from the Caribbean to the UK were doing those cuts. None of the looks showcased here are iconic or copied, whether he was the stylist at the time or not, the title of this clip should be changed, as it's misleading. Those looks were so major, that her stylist had interviews in every popular Afro/African American hair mag at the time, I can even recall that the stylists name is Ursula; That's how major those looks were. The styles she has now days don't even come close.
