Their lack of fight and desire? Give me a break with these extremely repetitive cliches. The likes of Garnacho, Hojlund, Ambrabat, Dalot, Mainoo, etc were busting a gut all match long. Garnacho could barely stand at the end of the match. For as much as TalkSport constantly talk about United, their actual analysis of the team is dreadful. Ally-Please explain these numbers from your fellow Scotsman McTominay-6th percentile (as in bad, not good) for passes attempted per 90 minutes as a center midfielder, 12th percent for progressive passes, 19th percent for interceptions, and 43rd percent for pass completion. And please explain how in the world United are ever going to control and dictate matches with a center midfielder like that?

Mctominay is the most dedicated and hard working player to come out of the academy in the last decade. Absurd to be scapegoating him for this mess with irrelvant andcherry picked passing stats.

@jhpfdijtuiweruot It doesn’t matter if he’s “the most dedicated and hard working.” He’s not good enough, period. Those passing stats are very real and reflect who he is as a center midfielder. No amount of scoring a goal every 6-8 games making late runs into the box makes up for that. His limitations are very clear to see and he’s a bottom half of the table to relegation level player. That’s the objective reality and he should no longer be at United. Ten Hag was trying to sell him last summer but he refused to leave because he’ll never make the kind of money he makes at United at any other club.

In pre season, in pre games, in his selection, the manager sets the standards, the standards he has set are the very ones his is moaning about and blaming the players for, defence is not United issue, the wingers are greedy and have no idea how to play as part of a team and that has been the problem since ETH turned up with Antony in toe, yesterday was normal, 2 shots on target, of course they are still so slow going forwards, with 1 minute to go there was no urgency, too many players looking to keep possession, your 1-0 down with 1 minute to go, its all coaching, well the extreme lack of it.
