Could you talk about how best to go about planning post-camp travel as a first time counselor (ie. having no friends prior to arriving)? How much should you have planned and researched before camp compared to what you plan and decide when you've made friends? Also, do you think it's best to: book a return flight and just have to commit to finishing traveling then; or risk having to pay a LOT more for a flight home that you book more last minute but would probably fit whatever travel plans get made? (Obviously its somewhat situational but I'd love to hear your opinion on it)(praying camp 2021 happens!) xx

Hey Ally! I’ve just watched a few of your camp videos and omg if I didn’t want to go to camp I definitely do now, it sounds amazing!!! I just had a question as you make being a general counseller sound really good and interactive, and you mentioned joining in on activities and stuff with your group, so I guess my question is if you’re a specialty counsellor and you’re only teach one skill do you still get the same opportunities to join in on activities as well or are you more stuck to your skill if that makes sense! I’m from Melbourne aswell so have never experienced camp as a camper and even though I’d be there as a cousellor I still want to be able to join in!!! Thanks so much for your videos they’ve helped heaps! Xxx
@AllySheehan3 жыл бұрын
Hiya Sam! So glad to hear you're considering it :) At most camps, counselors can techincally get one period off a day (we never really asked for them though), some people use them to nap or call home but you could use this to go spend a period with your division and join in with them. GC's definitely get more time experiencing all different activities, whereas specialty counselors get to meet all the different kids and counselors at camp!
