A true master of his craft. I am almost speechless as what more to say about this greatest method actor of all times. How much more a collection of sensibilities, subtleties and nuances he has? Why he is so perfect that we almost forget Daniel Day-Lewis altogether and immersed in the scene as one of his audience in real time as a real person (of that character). How on earth he has so much patience and control that every move is so well measured. It is nothing less or more. Just in the exact right measure. This film is one of my most favorite and I am struggling to pitch it against Gangs of New York performance. Oh yeah, and then we have There Will Be Blood. My God this gentleman is a genius.

So much communicated with so little dialogue. I love a film with space to breathe for the actors to act and react.

I don't think many people understand the physiology behind this movie. It's much deeper than her poisoning him; she was actually killing his ego and bringing him back to life. If you know, you know. 🍄

When we were leaving this movie a woman next to me was saying how boring it was & I looked over & said this my second time - I love this movie. She looked at me so surprised.😊

I think it's hilarious that she does all these irritating things to piss him off.😂
@lucindaarmour4685Ай бұрын
Its not that. She wants to strip him of his ego. Its only when he is stripped of his ego that they can connect. He connects to his authentic self, their relationship and to his mother - who he adores. Its very moving - strange but moving.

This movie is basically about the women's burning desire to posses her husband and his burning desire to belong to someone.

I never liked her. She was a sociopath with severe insecurities. And why would he even be with her? She's annoying and purposely does things to annoy him. What's the allure in that? And ti eat her stupid omelets poisoned with those mushrooms makes no sense. Anyone would have called the police and put her in jail. This was not a love story, it was about a toxic relationship with codependency. It's sad that this was Daniel's last film. There will be blood was superb, whereas this was shit.

Just because you don't understand the concept of pacing, and watch too much tick tok so your attention span is minimal, doesn't mean the rest of us don't understand subtlety.

Haven’t seen it but I think I would like it. Idk I like boring artsy movies like this. They are peaceful and comforting. Gives you a chance to slow down and think. Can definitely understand why some people wouldn’t be into it though.
