I was very moved by the expressions on the faces of the people as they listened to how much Heavenly Father loves us. We are never abandoned. The joy expressed by everyone leaving the cleansing waters to begin anew stirred my heart and memory of my own baptism. How naive I was back then not realizing the work of becoming a true child of God was just beginning. In the midst of our current struggle I am at peace, trusting in our Savior because I have not given up the battle to believe, no matter the state of the world. Continue to look to Heavenly Father and follow the Christ. You won't regret holding fast!

@@gesucristo8952 When I read the Book of Mormon, the Holy Ghost testifies to me that it is true. What is it that Alma taught in this video? That Jesus Christ's coming was the most important thing to ever happen, that we must repent of our sins and be humble and be baptized for forgiveness. Jesus taught all of these things - the Book of Mormon contains additional words of Christ. I know it's true.

As I was watching this, I discovered how much the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, not only talked about Jesus Christ, but also the wonderful things that could come to those who chose to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many people in the Ancient Americas were able and willing to become baptized. I also realized that for years I was more focused on the general story line of the people who lived during the time of the Book of Mormon and now I am realizing just how much the Prophets and people tried to testify of Christ. I've also learned from those who lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ were able to draw on Christ's power long before He came to Earth in his mortal body. We too can have Christ's help in our lives even before Jesus Christ comes back for His Second Coming. I'm glad I have the opportunity to really see how much the Book of Mormon truly Testifies of Jesus Christ and how much of a companion this scripture is to the Bible.

@mareaderosa52866 ай бұрын
Yes, this was before Jesus was born. In the Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fulness of the everlasting gospel. The book was written by many ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy and revelation.. Their words, written on gold plates, were quoted and abridged by a prophet-historian named Mormon. The record gives an account of two great civilizations. One came from Jerusalem in 600 B.C and afterward separated into two nations, known as the Nephites and the Lamanites. The other came much earlier when the Lord confounded the tongues at the Tower of Babel. This group is known as the Jaredites. and they are the principal ancestors of the American Indians. You can read all about it in the Book Of Mormon. God bless you for asking.

The series doesn't have a goal of comprehensive coverage (though that would be awesome), but to focus on key teachings, etc. Decisions about what to film or not film were made carefully and in counsel with Church leaders. I like to think of it this way--just as we can benefit from contemplating Mormon's selection of the "hundredth" part to include in the plates, we can benefit from contemplating why certain messages and events were selected for these visual depictions (while still studying all of it--whether omitted or filmed). 8-)

How is it possible that the word "Church" is known to these people today?
@davidcallahan26374 жыл бұрын
good question. i am assuming you don't know another language. if you did, you would know that when you translate that language for someone else who doesn't understand the other language, what comes out of your mouth in translation reflects your own knowledge and interpretation, in your own words. Since Joseph Smith didn't know the language on the plates, the Lord placed into his mind the words to use and when they came out of Joseph's mouth, the idea came out Church, because the idea was what a church was in Joseph's day. hope this helps. if you don't speak another language, ask someone you trust about the difficulty of translation into another language. good luck
@FromJosephtoJesus4 жыл бұрын
David Callahan That’s true about translation to another language. Nevertheless, that’s by far, not the biggest problems with Joseph Smith’s claims about the Book of Mormon. Members are told to concentrate in the good feelings the book brings, but the facts are that there is no evidence that it is an ancient record. Unlike the biblical records, it has no support in History, Archeology, Geography, Anthropology, (DNA for Native Americans being Eurasian, not Semitic), no support in ancient languages, “reformed Egyptian” not being recognized in the languages field as existent. None of those things can really give credence for one to find evidence for its veracity. Therefore, people have to rely solely on the good feelings they feel when they pray to know if it is true. Never mind that feelings can be very deceiving, and that the enemy of our souls can manipulate us to feel things and believe in what may look like light and truth, but are really darkness and deceit. God told us not to follow our hearts in that manner, warning us that “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9 God also admonished us against Satan’s schemes, “And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 We need to judge any new claims of divine revelation by the already revealed word of God in the biblical text. Whoever and whatever contradicts it, is false and not coming from God. Smith contradicts the Bible in all of the central doctrines of Christianity.

@@FromJosephtoJesus give it moe time. more and more evidence will come forth. Some internal evidence is already there, like names, places, language structure etc. indicating that it is of ancient origin. Read Book or Mormon Central website for more info.
@FromJosephtoJesus4 жыл бұрын
eckhard hensel Oh friend, no amount of time will be sufficient for that to happen. Even the high leadership in the church emphasizes seeking a testimony, but do not talk about proof or evidence. They know there’s none. Excavations around Mount Cumorah have ceased because after great efforts and investment to find anything in the site of an alleged great war, there was nothing. The Book of Mormon has gone through several revisions and has had additions in its different editions, that took place throughout the years, yet without any footnotes explaining to the reader why. The Book of Abraham is even more discredited on its own. Still, the standard of the LDS church in viewing the biblical records as divinely preserved are so opposite to the very relaxed standards they use to rationalize their own. Do you see a contradiction in that?

For 100 years Joseph and the Book of Mormon were ridiculed for saying that Native Americans possessed the ability to manufacture cement. Yet cement slabs dating to the first century AD were found in Teotihuacan in the 1930s. Structural engineer David S. Hyman noted, "American technology in the manufacture of cement, its mixing and placement 2,000 years ago, paralleled that of the Greeks and Romans during the same period." Since then, cement houses and cities have been found in Mesoamerica. Cement is solid evidence for Book of Mormon authenticity. In the February 2018 edition of "National Geographic" magazine is an article "Laser Scans Reveal Maya Megalopolis Below Guatemalan Jungle" The author is Tom Clynes. The article is about a 2016 LiDAR scanning of about 800 square miles around Tikal in northern Guatemala. This is just a fraction of the former Maya territory which spanned thousands of square miles, yet the LiDAR revealed over 60,000 houses, palaces, elevated highways, and other human-made features that have been hidden for centuries. The project was spearheaded by the PACUNAM Foundation with a consortium of researchers which includes: Thomas Garrison, Albert Lin, Francisco Estrada-Belli, and Marcello Canuto. The results suggest that the scanned area supported on advanced civilization that may have reached a population of 10 to 15 million people. In the March 2019 edition of "Discover" magazine on page 26, is an article "A Lost World Emerges" The author is Nathaniel Scharping. The article describes some of the finds from the LiDAR scan of northern Guatemala. The group of researchers has uncovered unknown city-states near Tikal with limestone roads running from city to city. Unexpectedly, the group found Maya structures built expressly for defensive warfare. These include ditches, moats, ramparts, high walls, fortresses, and a series of watchtowers. Many of these surround or are near major cities. In one place the group found a mound of sling stones which could have been potential ammo from over 1,000 years ago. The findings closely match the fortifications Captain Moroni caused to be built, as described in the Book of Mormon in Alma 49-50. One DNA used to refute the Book of Mormon is mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). Only women pass mtDNA to their children. All of us inherited our mtDNA from our mothers. The other genetic marker being used is the Y-chromosome (Y-chr), which is passed by men to their sons. Tom Murphy, Simon Southerton, and others claim the Book of Mormon is false because neither Middle East mtDNA nor Y-chr has been found among the American Indians. Here are a few reasons for that. Lehi and his family of no more than 40 individuals sailed into an area already populated by tens of thousands of people. They intermarried with the natives, and their mtDNA and Y-chr disappeared within a few generations. Another reason would be that after the arrival of Europeans in 1492, the native population of 100 million was drastically reduced by warfare and disease. In the National Geographic video "America Before Columbus," Professor Andrew Isenburg of Temple University said that upwards of 90% of the Indians died within 50 years. Entire villages and tribes vanished. That means that all DNA tests performed today would be on the descendants of the 10 or 20 percent who survived. That is not a very accurate sampling. Also, many tribes have refused to participate in any genetic database tests. My final reason is the unreliability of mtDNA and Y-chr. Our second daughter married a man whose paternal line is Danish and whose maternal line is Japanese. They have a daughter and two sons. All three children have the mtDNA of their mother, which is my wife's mtDNA, which is from Sweden. The boys have their father's Y-chr, which is from Denmark. Using the same tests that Murphy and Southerton cite to support their argument, one can prove that those children have Swedish ancestry, and that the boys have Danish ancestry. But NO ONE can prove that they also have Japanese ancestry! If those tests cannot find any mtDNA from their Japanese grandmother, who is alive, how reliable are those tests in finding Israelite mtDNA or Y-chr from 2,600 years ago? The lack of Japanese mtDNA in those children DOES NOT mean that they are not part Japanese! The lack of Israelite mtDNA or Y-chr in the surviving American Indians DOES NOT disprove the Book of Mormon! The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. In the July/August 2018 edition of "Biblical Archaeology Review" on page 32, is an article "Egyptian Papyrus Sheds New Light on Jewish History" The author is Karel van der Toorn. The article is about a papyrus roll (P. Amherst 63) discovered in the late 19th century at Luxor (ancient Thebes). It took more than 120 years to decipher the text. It was discovered that Egyptian Demotic script had been used to write Aramaic text! The translation turned out to include three Israelite psalms written about 400BC. This is an example of "reformed Egyptian" used by Israelites and discovered by non-Mormons!

Adam is also....Alma?!

Just a description of the actor who did both parts. Alma here and Adam in another production.

I love these videos. They are professionally done. The one thing I find of some concern, that being that all the people in the multitudes that listen both to Alma and Benjamin look like Lamanites or Pacific Islanders. Where are the Nephites?

Well, maybe they decided to think about diversity, plus this is the Americas where these stories take place, Lamanites or not, these are the modern native americans' ancestors

You’ve been conditioned to believe the Nephites were white Anglo Saxon looking people.... where they were actually Semitic, brown skinned... much more resembling Polynesian, South American peoples of our day. And hate to break it to you but Jesus was not white with blue eyes either!
