Continuing pg 328 and Surah Al-Anbiyah Story of Prophet Dawud ‘alaihissalaam, beginning of the story (how he became King) is mentioned at the end of juzz 2 (Surah Al-Baqarah) 78 - Another story of prophet Dawud and Sulayman ‘alaihumassalam. 79 - “Judgement” = prophethood + ability to judge 81 - “blessed land” refers to As-Sham - The levant. Also mentioned at the beginning of Surah Al-Israa. Pg 327 11:42 - ayah 82, middle of page - ayah 87: 29:58 82 - “guard them” keep in check. Important point when translating: “we don’t go away from the apparent meaning of the arabic words unless it is from something impossible or there is a tafsir from the early generations to explain it in another way. 82 - story of Ayyoob ‘alaihissalaam, story will come in more details later. 84 - Allah give back same and more and better - that is the reward of patience in times of trials. Allah will answer duahs, remove affliction and give better than what they had before. “Reminder for the worshippers” - shows this applies to everyone. 85 - this ayah completes the mentions of the 25 prophets by name in the Quran. Surah Al-An’am has 18 + 4 of the arabian peninsula (Hud, Salih, Shu’aib, Mohammad) + Adam + 2 mentioned in this ayah. 87 - Prophets do not sin deliberately (story of prophet Yunus ‘alaihissalam). “Darknesses” = in the night + at the bottom of the sea + in the fish. 88 - Al-Hamm = worry about the future, Al-Hazn = worry about the past, Al-Gham = worry about the present. “Saved the believers” again evidence that this is a duah for *all*, if we come with what the prophets came, in this case, the tawbah of Yunus. 89 - Zakariyyah’s duah. Also mentioned in Surah Maryam and surah Aal-Imraan. 90 - things, if you do them, your duah will be answered: hasten to good deed, make duah, have fear, have hope, be submissive. This is mentioned at the end of the page and after all the duahs of the prophets. Doubt: is it wrong to think “I do this because I want to go to Jannah?” or “I do this so Allah answers my duahs”. It’s not wrong, the prophets were also scared of Jahnnam and wanted Jannah. Wanting Jannah is not incomplete Imaan. Pg 330 - Ayah 91- 48:48 Middle of page - Ayah 96 - 58:43 92 - Allah telling the prophet Muhammad sallAllahu’alaihiwassalam that he belongs to this community - of all the prophets mentioned so far. Also another evidence that worship is part of Laa Ilaaha IllAllah. 93- the *followers* divided matters, broke off into groups. Not the prophets. 94 - proof that if you do good deeds and are a believer then Allah will not deprive you of the good that you have done. 95 - “return”, either in tawbah or return to this world after being destroyed. 96 - Ya’joob and Ma’jooj also mentioned in surah Al-Kahf - the dam. 97 - There are 10 major signs, the 1st is Dajjal, 2nd is return of Isa ‘alaihissalam, last is the fire that will start in Yemen. The other signs we do not know the order of them, they will come in close succession and they are all big supernatural signs. 101- “sabaqat” = already destined for you, jannah or jahannam already written for you before you are born. Question “why should I work if it’s already written?” What other option do you have? You have 2 options: work hard, or do nothing. If you do nothing then you’re guaranteed to be from the people of Jahannam. Page 331 Ayah 102 - 1:12:05 Middle of page - ayah 106 - 1:25:17 102: Qiyamah has stages, at the end Jannah and Jahannam will be far apart. Some things will affect everyone. 105 - “Zabur”, either referring to the Zabur of Dawud ‘alaihissalam or Zabur refers to all scriptures. 107 - all rulings are a rahma from Allah. 112 - this duah was accept and continues to be accept, during the battle of Badr, the conquest of Makkah etc..

The Ustadh made an excellent point about celebrating birthdays and other occasions. I hope smaller clips that address important/contemporary issues are made from these longer tafsir videos. Very beneficial, baarakAllahu feekum.

Page 332 Beginning Surah Al-Hajj 1:32:19 Middle of page - ayah 5 - 1:37:01 Said it is revealed in Makkah but also said it is revealed in Madinah Pg 333 ayah 6 - 1:48:35 Middle of page ayah 12 - 1:58:42 6 - this ayah is an indication that our purpose in life is to worship Him alone, because He brought us to life in truth as mentioned in details in the previous ayah. 11 - referring not to new muslims, but to people who only practise the religion when things are going well for them. 12 - referring to the one who leaves Islam 13 - overall, is it a negative/harmful experience 14 - “yureed”, here referring to Allah’s will but also Allah loves to do this. Page 334 Ayah 16 - 2:07:10 Middle of page ayah 19 - 2:24:05 17 - Sabians, based in Iraw mostly, believe in a supreme being. Majous - in Persia, believe in dualism, god of light and dark - fire worshipers, zoroastrians. 19 - adversaries here is believers and disbelievers Page 335 - Ayah 24 - 2:28:45 Middle of page Ayah 28 - 2:42:55 25 kuffar of Quraysh were doing 2 things - disbelieving and trying to take people away from Islam. Makkah is unique in the aspect that *intending* evil is deserving of sin, anywhere else in the world, you need to do the action. 26 - information about the history of the Ka’ba. 27 - order to Ibrahim ‘alaihissalam 28 - “al-baa-is al-faqeer” = one type of person - the “miserably poor”, not 2 separate category. Discussion on the process of hajj, very beneficial 30 - “qawla zzoor” As-Sa’di rahimahullah said: it refers to all statements that are haram, lies, false testimony. 3 things prohibited in this ayah: filth, idol worshiping, and words of falsehood. Page 336 - Ayah 31: 3:08:17 middle of page ayah 26 - 3:18:37 31 - “hunafaa-a” the one who only turns towards the worship of Allah. As-Sa’di said this ayah refers in general to the kuffar, they have no foundation to their actions and can be led astray by shayatins. The prophet sallAllahu’alaihiwassalam also quoted this ayah when referring to the soul of the kaafir when it will be denied entry to the first heaven, it will be dropped back to earth - Long hadith about punishments of the grave. 32 - “sha’aa-ir” symbols of the religion 34 - why we sacrifice? 1. To remember Allah, 2. To show gratitude to Allah for all that He has given us. 35 - this ayah defines the last word of the previous ayah “”al-mukhbiteen” 37 - discussion on importance of the act of worship of sacrificing. Further discussion on rituals vs customs. The religion is what defines what is a ritual and what is a custom, it is not for us to say “I do this but I do not take is as a religious celebration”

For surah 21:94 If you accumulate good deeds it's recorded, right? If bad deeds it will be recorded or your good deeds will lessen on your scale? Surah 22:55 Adam came from dust, does eve or Hawa is same? Or from nutfah? But then Hawa is from his side (rib)?
