1) Post timeskip Noctis, and I won’t accept any substitutes!!! 2) Gonna have to go with Doctor Cid of FF 12 3) I’d say Yu Yevon, he was trying to preserve and then save his people, according to the novel, the pyreflies can act as reality manipulation basically, and he was the most powerful summoner, he lost his mind shortly after summoning Sin though, and the rest is history 4) 10-2 is 5’s system but much better, a pity it never saw a resurgence 5) 🤔🤔🤔 probably Cid from 13 6) Eight for me 7) I remember having lots of trouble as a kid during 12’s Nalbina 8) I’d say the one in Chocobo Mystery Dungeon, by virtue of getting characterization, and the chibi artstyle fits the chocobos 9) Auron in Kingdom Hearts 2 10) 10 by far

During the battle system segment, FF11 was real time but it was more menu based. you could make macros but all the gameplay was done by navigating menus like the older games before it whereas 14 is obviously using keyboard hotbars

I love the BIRDS! You two are great and truly do create some of the best FF content of all time. I feel I must add in yet one more line of loving critical acclaim to the wonderful and artistic content the Birds of Play bring to the great FF community by saying that you both offer some of the best takes, humor, and insightful commentary of any FF content creators on this platform. I will say though, in spite of all the fun videos I have enjoyed of yours over the last year or so, none of it could stop me from dropping off hopefully the one and only somewhat hateful comment I am going to leave you with: - and do remember that I love this channel, and would support all other content in this video except for whats in the following comment: "The fact you ave thrown in a beloved character like Jecht into a top worst "anything", puts you at the top of my ignorant moron list, whom either knows absolutely nothing about the subject matter, OR can only be a product of what could only be described as a generation of absolutely stupid and emotionally immature snowflakes who actually know nothing correct in how to deal with emotions in any way shape or form. I would point you to a few scenes to re-watch to better understand your ignorance - 1) the Farplane remembrance scene where Tidus actually begins to recall that his father likely cared and loved him more than his mother did when he insists that she go to him despite her initially refusing to do so. 2) The scene found in the sphere after beating the elemental sphere boss in Machalania Woods. Both Auron and Jecht demonstrate how much Jecht loves his son. 3) while not a scene and more of a rationale, Jecht was aboducted into Spira before he ever had the chance to mature himself and finish the job of being a father in the first place, so judging him as harshly as you have is entirely unfair for these three reasons/scenes. Grow up, and stop being a 'crybaby'. See what I did there?" I deeply regret having to enlighten you so, and genuinely hope you understand the satire humor in my comment, as that is hard to sometimes see in text only. Also, go back to research and understand the dynamics of what being a good father is, especially when it comes to preparing your child for an unforgiving, and often cruel world that is going to be difficult on your and never care about your own personal struggles. If you want your son to be weak, cater and spoil, and reward crybaby behavior. You will end up with an adult that is emotionally unstable. Yet Tidus was manly and tough enough to accept non-existence as a consequence to saving the rest of the world, much like his father sacrificed himself for the chance for the same.

Also at the end of this video - I completely take back everything I said negative even if it was satire humor that I did not mean. Your top 5 FF of all time are the best. especially your top two, simply because IX and X are also the very tippy top of the best FF of all time, quite easily. And those answers, so long as those two games are in the top 2, are objectively correct. anything else replacing them are objectively incorrect. That is to say, any game that takes any spot in a top 2 that is not IX or X is objectively WRONG. the end. love the video. still subbed.

I find it funny that you both have the same top 5 final fantasy games, even if the order is slightly different. And yes ff9 is peak. Can't really say that I've been able to put too much time into many others, but even with others available I'm always open for a new playthrough of 9.

i love your channel. your voices are so soothing and calming, paired with your great sense of humor I am frequently laughing. Thanks for this video, long form comps are great, and I would never call this background "noise" it's straight up ambiance. you guys should record audiobooks.

1:27:32 So... why not honorable mentions to FF 12? 😋 1) Cid Fabol, because he always reminds me of another great man with nearly the exact same moustache: Whitebeard from the anime 'One Piece' 2) Worst: Cidolfus Demen Bunansa from FF 12 Best(s): Barret and Sazh, couldn't decide Honorable mention for the worst: Laguna from FF 8. Yes he kinda tried to make a better path for the future and yes, there are this really strong implications that he is the father of Squall. But even the fact that father and son didn't share a real (in meaning of intimate / private) father-and-son conversation and even the fact, that Squall was raised in an orphanage while Laguna is still being alive... sry but it makes me kinda angry thinking about it. Hey, even Square Enix don't intend to really confirm this father-son-relation (til today!).. even they find that this relation seems kinda awkward or uneasy (but that's just my opinion 😉) 3) Ardyn - First it was Vayne, then Caius. But finding out more about Caius' past, i felt some sort of tragic behind his existence that I had to put him on top spot. 4) I grew up with FF12 so its ADB-system was a really good start to begin with. By playing more and more titles, I would give the ATB-system of Rebirth the upper hand. 5) Nostalgia kicks in, in addition for having a heart for maniacs and geniusses: Cid from FF12. Damn does he wear some nice clothes and his profound usage of words and intonation.. and don't forget about his soft and brilliant smirk after dodging Gabranth... (wow I was more into it than I thaught 😅) 6) Probably FF10 I guess 7) Via Purifico (wins for me because of the OST) 8) I have a heart for Boko 9) Reddas for me. Can't explain why but he was the first one coming into my mind (allways feel in a bad mood when I see his sacrifice) 10) FF 12 -> 10 -> 7 -> 9
