And yet another great and enjoyable video. Thanks Ben. Regarding the 63,5% filling strength: the fact that all distilleries use it as a business standard, makes it easier to sell, as the filling level us based on the same strength and all the dissappeared liquid is due to angels share.

Nice cask strength content as always mate. I would say this year I have had a lot of enjoyment at the 40 - 45% range lately but always great to have the choice to have more control over the water. Cheers.

Another great video bud. Cask Strength whisky has its place but people shouldn't be afraid to add a drop of water to their whisky. It can really open up flavours. Keep up the great content.

Informative and explained in layman's terms. 40 ABV seems to be for 10 year olds and I haven't seen any higher in my local Morrisons .I've been collecting miniatures for about six months now plus a bottle of Bunnahaiban Sturidare 12 43ABV a Bruichladdi Classic laddie and a 12 year old Glen Fiddich and I havnt opened any of them yet so I doubt I will ever try cask strength. Make 2 Swedish videos as you say you had a blast so we want to experience it as well . Love the slide guitar music it suits your videos

Nice video, it was very informative! Just note that the Bunnahabhain 12 regular and 12 cask strength are not the same whisky, they have different maturation. I would suggest the experience with Laphroaig 10, the CS is awesome! Best regards

About 3 months into my whisk(e)y journey I decided to try my first cask strength whisky A'Bunadh Alba at 57.1% and it about cauterized my esophagus shut. To say the least I was not ready for it, but I am starting to get used to higher and higher ABV's now about 8 months into my journey.

How's it going 15 months on the journey? 46% is good, right? Age, casking, and ABV all contribute to the value. I drink and buy 75% or more of my bottles for the last 2 years, at cask strength. I used to think it was a better value to get more alcohol but age is worth paying for. Youth and high proof does not always make for a good dram. Cheers

I totally agree with your take on cask strength, I'm finding myself buying more cask strength and usually like them the way they are and one of my favourites at the moment is Ardnamurchan CS 58.7 ABV

The water that a distillery uses for their distillation is known to be the local water source. Is the water used to reduce the aged product to a bottling strength ALSO the local water source or is it distilled/purified water?

Good question. If they ship the whisky in a plastic tub to a bottling plant than they will be using tap water
