Man, I had a 2nd empire I just sold in WI and would follow your channel as I finished mine up. I was really fortunate to find a crew in the area that restored old homes and it made life much better. Having a restoration while living in a house is a nightmare and about ended my marriage it was awful.

Hi Kaleb, I fully appreciate how much time goes into putting together a YT post, and I understand first the wish to run to the finish line on the Lustro and second the need (in all ways) to sometimes take a step back and recharge your batteries: mental, emotional and physical. I’ve never seen that clever Dishmaster and I was a kid in the 1950’s. Those television sets looked familiar….the first thing we watched on our set was President Eisenhower in a parade! That and a lot of Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs. Anything that made my dad laugh was a good thing. 😅 Thanks for this very interesting vlog. My linoleum was laid in 1979 and it still looks brand new after I use the correct product on it. Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Finish. I was afraid to use it for fear I would slip on it wearing socks but it is not slippery and looks beautiful.

We have vct tile in our kitchen and family room. It’s an instant mid mod look and easy to care for. And at time of installation $3 per square foot !!!Can’t beat that. We chose alternating stripes of grey and black. Still in love with it almost 10 yrs later :)

Take good care of yourself - everyone can get burned out. Now you know what it feels like, it's good to recognise the symptoms and stop yourself from letting it happen again. As you get older, it starts hitting you harder & harder and you carry it with you even after you "recovered" so be careful - don't ignore your body's signs that you need rest.

We had a historic house built in 52 that had grand wood paneling with those asbestos tiles but we had to remove them. We ended up putting down matching oak flooring. The house was like living in a mid century museum. Loved it!

One of the Des Moines lustrous had a huge tree fall on it from a tornado recently. It lost its whole roof sadly but surprisingly the structure held up pretty well for what I saw in pics

My understanding is that linoleum has been available since the 1870's. Our bathroom still has its original linoleum from1894.

Those floors remind me of enlisted base housing at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base in the 80’s. I spent lots of time sweeping and mopping those floors and even more time chasing down crickets that would hide behind the baseboard. One night my husband ripped all the baseboard off the wall in the bedroom to kill a cricket that was keeping him awake. RIP cricket. You were a hero to your fellow crickets.
