I have never thought about the Gods as being so bored that the only way to alleviate it is to fuck around with humans (in Zeus’ case, literally). It makes way too much sense and I love it. It makes them a bit more relatable.

And it's a more realistic take on Gods then what a lot of religions have. The Greek Gods didn't view the humans any differently than the way we view the characters in the Sims. "I control the world and I can reward or torment you as I see fit"

Only Chains of Olympus left to complete now, at least until Ragnarok comes out. Here's hoping when it does the PS5 is more readily available. And hey, maybe they'll come out with a God of War Ragnarok special edition version like they did with the PS4k. Would be pretty cool in my opinion.

1 and 2 were each amazing; I agree that 3 felt a little stale (very good on its own but didn't take it anywhere new), and I was confounded by what a great job they did resetting the story and setting and gameplay with 4. Something tells me we won't see Kratos go toe to toe with buff Jesus though.

I'm playing through the mainline God of War games in chronological order. I'm now currently nearly finished with God of War 1. Prior to that I first played Ascension and then Chains of Olympus. Playing through my current game rn, I gotta say: I prefer Terrence C Carson's performance in this game more than the first two I played in the series thus far. I care a lot more about Kratos as a character when he's not shouting all of his lines. In this game there's a humanity to him, something that's more grounded and vulnerable and the times when he shouts are much more impactful and powerful as a result. I don't know why they weren't consistent in keeping his character this way up until the 2018 game.
