I use one to create longer, and varying sequences by feeding different step sequencers in, and switching between them at varying intervals.

Been messing with 4 LFOs going into a sequential switch as a trigger for Plaits. Currently don't have any of these modules so I've been testing it in VCV rack and it sound amazing. It's rythmic and a bit random

I really think there is much music to be discovered using this sequential switch method. Keep it up!

Hehe... Before the recording my son was watching cartoons on the Disney+. I asked him to pause it while I was making a new recording, which took place in the living room. He was not pleased and sighed to express his impatience, I guess...

Excellent video - I can see how I can use my Joranalogue compare 2 in a kind of similar way to generate textures. I had not thought of this before!
@axis_8 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The Compare 2 is on my shortlist, btw. Eurorack is rich in that you don't need fancy stuff to create interesting music. It lets you create fancy 'modules' by combining simple ones.
@wariusgaius Жыл бұрын
I use Compare 2 + A-151 to switch between different outputs of 1 or 2 oscillators at audio rate. New complex waveforms emerge. Lot of fun.

Hi, take a look at this Reddit post of mine explaining the idea of using A-151 Quad Sequential Switch as a rhythm generator: www.reddit.com/r/modular/comments/14sfr5x/almost_forgotten_rhythm_generator_for_just_70/?
@colourbasscolourbassweapon2135 Жыл бұрын
well is it granular synthesis so yeah 😎
@axis_8 Жыл бұрын
Hehe, you are making a point that's partly true (no pun intended) if every part of a soundwave is considered a grain. But not true if you consider the synthesizing part inherent to granular synthesis as this is all analog and played back as such, hence no synthesizing of the individual grains (unless you would maintain that the reverb is some kind of granular synthesizing, which it is to some extent, but then all reverberation using a DSP is granular synthesis). Personally I would rather refer to it as analog wave slicing.

The only one they have at the moment, although currently out of stock, is the Sequential Switch v2, 10hp. It packs very interesting and advanced features. Worth checking out.
