An Unexpected Experience in the Philippines while touring Clark Freeport Zone. Besides the beautiful parks, cafes, the parade ground and SM Clark we visited Clark City`s abandoned and known to be haunted hospital. It didn`t exactly go as planned....

I'm Susie and I was born in Hungary. Although I used to live in the Philippines for 4 years, I spent an unexpectedly long time back in my home country due to the Pandemic.
2022 has brought the change I've been waiting for and now I'm back in the Philippines to further explore the local life and the country's beautiful destinations, food, and culture.
Thank you for joining me on my adventures!

Dont be scared Susie. I worked in the Philippine General Hospital and I walk daily in Cebu Memorial Park at night. I am more scared of the living.

Yes Susie, that hospital was very very busy during Vietnam war. American soldiers were flown to that hospital, to get the proper medical care. For sure, some came out alive, but others did not.

Abandoned buildings tend to attract unseen entities. You can sense when a building has unseen "occupants" if you get goosebumps.

Hi Susie and Jonathan. I really enjoy all your videos especially this particular one. I was 19 years old in 1981 and was serving in the United States Air Force. My first assignment was at Clark Air Base in Pampanga where I was stationed for 18 mos. (I worked as a technician on the F-4 and F-5 aircraft weapon systems). My memory of the base hospital was when it had seen better days and looked a lot different. In fact, I used to be seen there for my medical appointments which I took advantage of just to get away from work. LOL. Thank you for the walk down memory lane. I look forward to more of your videos! God Bless you both.

The trees around the parade grounds are rain trees, native to South America. Commonly called "acacia" in the Philippines, even though they're not true acacias. They're pretty, but dangerous in storms, because they break easily and branches can come crashing down.
@SusieinthePhilippines
@SusieinthePhilippines Жыл бұрын
Oh thank you it makes sense, they really look like those trees in Africa!
@AngryKittens
@AngryKittens Жыл бұрын
@@SusieinthePhilippines Weird trivia: the "acacia" trees in African mainland are not really true acacia either. It's a long story, only interesting to people like me, LOL, but it has to do with genetics and scientists in the olden days classifying plants based on appearance (wrongly). Most true acacias today are native to Australia. With a few species in tropical Asia (including the Philippines), Oceania, and Madagascar. The native Ayangili of the Philippines is an acacia. As is the introduced "Mangium" acacias. The African and American "acacias" have been reclassified.

As soon as Susie admired the trees & wondered about their name, I knew you’d know👏🏼🙂🌳Ty, I always enjoy the details. Classification is Uber complex it seems to me as a garden/landscape & wildflower admirer. Many plants/trees have multiple names, it’s like their official names, all their science-y terms, & also all the “common” names which can vary by region (at least here in my large country), & as you mentioned common labels often incorporate what the plant resembles. Like it may look like cherry, & will have word cherry in local name, but it’s really not. Lotsa folks don’t feel the need to know specifics, I often hear “it’s a nice tree or pretty flower, that’s all”but some of us need names☘️🍃😊

introduced species and they're not acacias? mind blown. they do look exactly like the ones you typically see in national geographic (african grasslands) tho. all i know is that ravens and crows seem to like them.

@@AngryKittens i've seen a tiny green sunbird several times (at first i thought it was a hummingbird) just outside my window which surprised me coz i live in QC. it seems to be attracted to a tree that had leaves like a banana tree but splayed in a line like a fan and it had red/orange fruits?/flowers bunched like bananas. any idea what kind of tree it is?

I’m wondering if bear spray is legal in Phil. Perhaps not available as no bears there….it’s an easy tool to carry while hiking/exploring & may be used on predators both four legged & human. Don’t wish to disturb anyone who may feel bear spray use would be inhumane, but imo & I am only referring to serious threat/attacks.

16:01 In most cases, if you removed the clothing security tag by force black dyes will come out and it will stain the clothing making it unattractive. It's like if robbing a bank in other countries, the teller will inserts a dye pack inside the bag with the money, yes you got away with the money but as soon you are out of the bank the dye packs explode inside the bag and the money is worthless.
