Enjoyed listening to Gary. I am an ex oilfield worker so I understood everything he was talking about his work on the oil business.

Hi Mark. I’m also considering maybe retiring in Puerto Rico when I get much older. They let Americans use Medicare there, has beautiful sunny weather all year, good tax incentives and is much cheaper than living on the mainland. I’ve been there and it’s a nice US territory. Did you ever consider moving and retiring in the Caribbean at 62, such as to Puerto Rico? When working on a cruise ship, do workers still pay into Social Security and other retirement plans? I’m just trying to plan out my international retirement move as much as possible in advance. Thank you sir.

I've been to Puerto Rico many times and all the islands in the Caribbean and Bahamas. None of them appealed to me. I have a good friend who moved to San Juan he loves it

My lady friend, who just completed law school in the Phils, says the law regarding hospital admission has changed. She says hospitals are no longer allowed to turn patients away for lack of payment upfront. And she says it also holds for foreigners.

Lots of people I know here in the US want to struggle financially everyday. When I tell them I can move overseas and have a better life living on the cheap, they just laugh at the idea. I think people naturally only know what they’re used to. I have to stay in the US for at least five-ten more years. After that, I might pull the lever to move overseas, especially to the PH. I just want to save up a few thousand dollars in reserve first, secure my future pension along with Social Security and have remote job options available before I make the big move. It’s so important to plan ahead. Can ex-pats work at all in the PH or do they have to have a work permit to work even for pesos over there?

Hi Mark. Do you think almost all the ex-pats you meet are 62 or over living in the PH on only Social Security and/or a pension? I got about 20 years to go to full retirement but I already got the PH on my radar. I’d like to marry a pretty Filipina lady and have a kid with one after I’m 62. Is 62 usually the youngest retirees you find over there? Thanks. 😃

No, actually a lot of younger men are finding ways to retire early and move to the Philippines

@@everymanhasastory For people who don’t have much savings to their name and no passive income coming in every month, how can people of any age move over there and afford to live financially? Are remote jobs pretty much the only way to do it until age 62, such as teaching online?
