(Almost Missed) KCS 4500 leads a westbound grain train at Northern Blvd in Independence, MO

My final video of the day. I was coming home from filming in Atherton when I saw the signals activated at Harvard Ave for an approaching train on the CPKC Mexico Sub. I tried to race over to Northern Blvd to catch the train, but by the time I got to Northern, the train was almost there so I instead filmed the train from the inside of my truck. I ended up almost missing a WB grain train with Grey Ghost Ac4400cw #4500 leading with CP 8017 trailing behind along with CP 9812 as the DPU. I will try to get a video of the crossing in action sometime with the new 12x24 light that CPKC installed on the closest signal after the accident in which a FedEx truck took out the signal, damaging parts of the signal in the process.

Fun fact about Canadian National’s AC44C6Ms: some of them actually are ex GECX units that were once BNSF Dash 9s, including the 2 CN AC44C6Ms I caught a month ago, 3405 is ex GECX/BNSF 4592 and 3371 is ex GECX/BNSF 4511.

@@HunterWilliams-le9bk I wonder where CN is having their Dash 9s rebuilt at. Same for BNSF's. Ik NS has theirs rebuilt in Altoona

@@kcmorailfan4784 I believe they’re having their Dash 9s rebuilt at Wabtec in Erie, Pennsylvania, most of Norfolk Southern’s Dash 9s are rebuilt there as well.
