Hello, and welcome back to our channel! We’ve been trying to locate this mine since last year but were unsuccessful. Our first attempt was last winter and we hiked in the deep snow for hours, but decided to head back because we thought the snow was to deep and could be covering the portal. Then this summer we brought our dirt bikes and rode down every road all the way to the top of the mountain and still couldn’t find it. But after a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, we finally found this mine and it was definitely worth all the hard work! So join us today as we explore the Keystone Mine!
Base and precious metal mineralization were originally discovered at this locality in the early 1900's and underground development had taken place by 1936. The only production from the mine occurred in 1955, when 81 tonnes of ore were shipped for processing.

Hey Jeff!! Hope you and Lila are well:) Yes, we certainly have some wet ones here lol For the most part we usually have a map of the mines we visit, or at the very least we read the mining reports to look for information like that, that’s how we knew about the second level before we went :). Definitely wouldn’t want to end up under water in waders!! 😳

That wheelbarrow and box were nice finds at the end. I'd recommend starting your gas monitor outside of the mine so it can properly calibrate itself. Did you carry that ladder up there on your bike? It will be nice when you two get to explore some dry mines, but then you'll have to deal with the dust. Nice job Chyanne and Adam!

Hey guys :) We went back w the truck, Adam did go in when we were there, but the water was freezing and he fell lol And we usually do turn it on before, but on occasion we’ll forget until a few steps in and at that point, I think it’s still ok:) We look forward to doing some exploring in dry mines one day lol Stay safe out there you two and hope you guys had a great summer :)

Outstanding video, I read don't use bell on the outside of the waders, dangerous and you can drowned. Where the water exit? Thank you, love the video!

Hello Rubenia:) Thank you for watching and leaving a comment:) We appreciate it!! Yes, we read not to wear the belt too, but these waders came with them. We weren’t too worried about drowning because we weren’t in a river w moving water and we were walking slowly, so it would be very easy to take a step back to safety if needed :) The water will eventually dry up if given the right warm temperatures and time, but I think this one will have water all year because we had a slow start to summer. Take care and stay well :)

Hi Adam & Chyanne, if you do ever accidently drop any electronics into water a neat trick that really works is to get a tub etc and half fill it with rice then lay gently your flooded device on top of the rice and gently put more rice over the top and leave it for usually 2 weeks, then it will be dried out. The rice absorbs the moisture really well, you don't need to take the device apart as it works without doing that. The scary part with waders is if they fill with water there is a real chance of you getting into difficulty getting out as you are essentially making yourself heavier. Also make sure the person with the Oxygen monitor/gas detector is in front at all times. The pockets you pointed out could they also be used for miners to get out the way when a mine cart goes by ?? Was that vein you found at 27:29 possibly gold ????? Wow that old wheelbarrow was an amazing find guys, congrats. Thank you for sharing, much love to you both. xx ❤

Hello Sue! :) Thank you for your advice, we appreciate it! We’ve heard that about rice, neat little trick! Fortunately ours was ok, but we’ll keep it in mind for future “incidences” lol. I, Chyanne, use waders for fishing and know they can easily become a danger to the wearer. We have a river called the Fraser and it’s huge, crosses a lot of BC. We’ve lost many to it and often it’s waders that are the real reason behind it. Fortunately we knew there were no wizzes or anything like that that could give us trouble. Walking slowly gave us the chance to easily back up if the water got too deep too. We too would always recommend the one w the monitor walking ahead too, but in this case w read about a few ppl and their visits, it’s actually a recommended rock picking place and they mentioned the air was good. Adam was also in there a week or so before and it was good up to that point. When we’ve spent as much as eights hours underground, with murky water, mouldy ribs and soaking timbers, w no trouble, we look at these small ones like they’re a walk in the park, which we shouldn’t. Those areas could have been safety bays for sure, but probably not all of them. Some were too big, so wasted effort and space. Some could have been little prospecting drifts or storage areas.

Please never wear a belt on the outside of your waders .... the belt can trap air in your waders and your feet can become bouyant causing you to not be able to keep your head above water .... my uncle drowned due to this ... love your channel stay safe

Also you should carry a wading cane alaays when walking in flooded/murky water
@AdventuresRUs
@AdventuresRUs Жыл бұрын
Hello! The belts came with the waders, but I can tell you, you are correct with the buoyancy! We found it so easy to walk because of it, but can see how it could become an issue. Sorry to hear about your uncle. We’ve heard of several people passing while wearing waders. They lose their footing in the rivers and get taken by the current. It would be very difficult to take them off once they’re filled w water. We were walking very carefully w the water being so deep and didn’t know wading canes existed. Thanks for sharing and take care!!
