Ok, a quick word of advice to everyone, especially OP from Story 3; if you’re on a trail and you see a creepy guy crouching in the bushes, he makes eye contact with you, and every fiber of your being is telling you this means danger, yet you still manage to get away, DON’T IGNORE IT. CALL. THE. COPS. Just because you got away doesn’t mean he’s not going to try it again with someone else!

Story 9 just makes me so mad. That situation doesnt sound better at all. Lying and keeping past abuse secret, letting that man still be in all your lives, feeling that your mom doesn’t deserve to know. You’d want to know if your husband were abusing your children wouldn’t you? Your just gonna keep repeating the same cycle 🤦
@ZeeNastee3 жыл бұрын
That's a matter between her and the mother. Everyone handles things differently, the mother may very well become distraught and want to hurt herself after. We don't know who they are or what kind of people they are. Plus, the situation is even harder because the father only did that stuff since he was mentally ill and after seeking treatment was better again. It doesn't excuse what happened but knowing your father that you love was still inside a monster might mean you don't want to hurt him either.
@saltycat6623 жыл бұрын
They obviously grew up in a dysfunctional household. I mean, the mom stays with the guy even though he's become psychotic. I wouldn't allow my children to be exposed to that. The girls may have become enablers or sycophants. It happens. I hope she one day seeks therapy and finds the strength to face what happened to her. Keeping things inside only makes it worse with time.

Story #3....I like to think that the young woman's aggressive eye contact with the perv intimidated him enough to back down. It's so hard to give men the evil eye, but women must learn to do this as a safety measure when we come across would-be attackers.
@treelicker3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, from the way she described how she felt he probably decided she wasn't worth it. People can tell when you are upset enough to do them harm. Probably freaked him out that she wasn't trying to run or ignore him.

@@swargpatel7634 It's not that every man is like that, it's that men are the ones who are usually intimidating to women. The story about the military dad gave me so many mix emotions.. at the end, I'm glad he was able to get better and even made jokes and all, however, he caused irrefutable damage to his daughters specially the eldest one. I hope after he received the help he needed, he apologized to his daughters or something ! Not just push it under the rug. Also, I understand that the kids wanted to protect the mom about everything that happened, but I think she deserved to know... is it just me??

I agree. I'm left with mixed feelings as well. It is sad, and war/the military is to blame for this imo, but he is still responsible for his actions even with ptsd. Actions which are not excusable or redeemable. I'm glad he's better. But the mom needs to know the whole truth about what he did to her children and they all need to talk as a group with a therapist. It goes far beyond 'everything can go back to normal, he's better now'

To the girl with earpods missing. This is the way the world works because I have experienced exactly what you did in a situation where the routine puzzles you to doing or thinking some other way keeping you safe. We have guardian angels that guide us by allowing certain situations to manifest in our lives to have us learn a great deal, the survival is secondary. You and I both know this must be true as soon as we found the object where it was supposed to be. In actuality, it is like I was unable to see the object of my desire almost in front of me then later seeing it right where it was supposed to be. There is a narrative and we can change the path.

OP from Story 9, my mom loves my dad very much, but if she ever found out he was sexually abusing me and/or my brother the police would never find his remains. You don’t ever need to be the one to protect your mother; she has to protect you. If there’s one thing I learned from my mother it’s that you NEVER touch a mama bear’s cubs. You have to tell her.

@loriminimi9236Ай бұрын
She does need to tell her 100%! Unfortunately, it's shocking, completely shocking, how many mothers turn a blind eye. I unfortunately have several people in my life whose mom didn't and the pain. Thankfully girls are taught to stand up for themselves these days instead of the sugar and spice crap that was drilled into our heads. But it doesn't mean girls can abuse guys either. Strong girls don't need to abuse others either. My husband and I don't have children because of abuse from a past girlfriend. He was hospitalized; she had gone to the ER because she also broke her hand, giving him a concussion, plus his other injuries and everyone knew, and nothing happened to her because "he must have provoked her." And it happened several times. I've been with him for almost 20 years and not one time ever has he ever come close to provoking me to hit him. I don't have kids, only pets, and if someone touches one of them wrong the better part of their face would be gone. I couldn't imagine my children and the mama bear strength! I love it when moms don't take crap from bad people.

Story number 9 has me straight up mad.. why didn’t they tell their mom! She deserved to know! And if the mom knew and decided to stay with him anyways then she’s an awful mother. And I know they said “sHe DiDn’T kNoW” but I’m having a hard time believing that. If he was treating the children poorly he was treating her poorly too and she should have taken those kids and left. Ptsd or not idc he was an awful father who should have paid for his crimes or at least had the decency to check himself into a mental hospital upon his return home the first time. And if they suspected he was cheating on their mom they definitely should have spoken up Bc stds are no joke and she should definitely get checked. This story just has me mad Bc my mom knew and she stayed with my dad.. he was an army veteran too.. and I still have a hard time not resenting her for choosing him over her children.. I went on to serve as well as a medic, but sought help when I needed it.. anywho that’s it for my triggered venting session -_- imma go make tea now

I had to sit in silence for about 10 minutes after that whole one hour and 10 minute compilation. Wow Story 9: my dad grew up similarly to the story teller’s dad. He was the first child to a 17 y/o mom and 18 y/o dad in rural West Virginia. His dad would chase the kids around the house with a hatchet. My dad brought that pent up rage to my mom, brother, and me except our family wasn’t close. It was every man for himself. Mom checked out emotionally and my dad’s sister’s husband saw me as a target of a broken home and took advantage of that. I’ve thought of taking my life many times but chose therapy instead. Kids have a knack for thinking what their parents do is somehow their fault, that they must be inherently bad to be treated that way and it can stick with you and intertwine itself in your relationships with people. I’m glad to hear she and her dad are doing better

I live in germany. Our cell service outside of larger cities can be absolutely abysmal. One would think this impossible, seeing as we live in a supposedly modern, well-developed industrial nation, but there it is. It's actually so bad that some villages here still have extremely slow internet connections below 5 Mbit/s.
