Regarding the first funfact, as far as I'm aware (and as far as the wiki is to be trusted) Arbs actually have an ever so slightly higher Frame Delay than Xbows (20 compared to 15 in the new DE numbers)!
@krystofcisar4692 жыл бұрын
That would make sense.The original arbalests were late medieval, very strong unwieldy crossbows which needed the external lever or even pulley to be drawn. With draw weights from 150 to 600kilograms they sometimes needed two guys and big shield to be effectively used in open battle. No wonder genoese do such bonus damage with them
@NoraNoita3 жыл бұрын
The scout is faster because it wears less armour obviously. The Paladin wears heavier unwieldier armour than Knights and Chevalier. The elite Chu ko nu has to reload more arrows into the chamber. The Relic one makes sense to me, at least when we think how coding works and making fail saves with if clauses, for the last one we'd have to see the code to know exactly what the spawn conditions are, I assume something like spawning it close to the middle of the map coordinations. great info. This will help in my next tournament qualifier

Scouts being faster than light cavalry brings to mind the Teutons lacking that upgrade, thus "locking" them at the slightly higher base speed--however since they *also* lack Husbandry, every other scoutline will eventually outspeed them again except Vikings'. This should keep them just a bit faster than "medium" speed cavalry (cav archers, Keshiks, etc) even after Husbandry is researched.

The Paladin one I th8nk is intentional as having them attack that fast with all the other benefits of the upgrade means they are *slightly* overtuned. They then start to really demolish their counters in fights that they shouldn't along with buildings which they oughta have a bit more difficulty killing.
@NivMizzet893 жыл бұрын
I doubt it. If it was intentional it wouldn't be this insignificant.
@DCdabest3 жыл бұрын
@@NivMizzet89 It doesn't quite show in this test but when you get more Paladins together then that slight bit of extra speed begins to add up. The DPS output starts to get a bit intense. That said; it could be a hangover from the pre-Age of Conquerors days when we didn't have Halberdiers. So I'd love to see the history of that particular curiosity.
@Woppettier3 жыл бұрын
@@DCdabest I've always remembered reading somewhere this is for balance purposes (don't know whether that writer has it from an original source ofc though). Nowadays people don't give credit, but I feel like the original creators thought about the game much more than we would like to admit. If you look at the major mechanics and balance changes from the beginning, it isn't all /that/ much. The attack speed doesn't seem that difficult to change, someone could always test the signifance if they'd had time on their hands, anything else is just bluff
@peters.7783 жыл бұрын
The relic thingy is not completely useless. If you convert a transport ship with a monk in it AND have your own monk close to the spawn point of the relic AND a villager close to the shoreline, you can wall the shoreline, delete the transport and pick up the relic at the original location.
@kesiazezebajki19823 жыл бұрын
Ok step 4, what if you lose a monk with a relic on board of the ship... while the entire map is blocked? Harbour make sense as it's a different building than a Dock so if every nation had access to Serjeants , but only Sicilians could make then in Donjons, other nations would not be able to do so.

@@OrnLu_AoE Not in that mission. It seems Filthy knew to switch the tech off for those smart enough to consider the strategy. Too bad it's ridiculously hard securing those Feitorias, considering the Portuguese are tucked away and protected by a bunch of Bombard Towers and the combined navies of the Portuguese and Rakhine. If you defeat the Vietnamese Rakhine at the start of the mission though, it does become a viable strategy.
