For everyone confused by the comments regarding sunlight, aloe Vera needs bright light (so near a window is very good), just as long there is no Sun rays directly touching it, so keep it indoors near a window, and do NOT over water x

Hi Barbie. You don't need to trim any leaves off of the Aloe. If one shrivels and dies, it will fall off itself. They don't typically need much fertilizer, and just give it bright light away from the direct sun and water about once a month.

So what care does an aloe vera plant need? In very specific , clear term. So if its in south window all the time is not good, all the time?
@gardenstead
@gardenstead Жыл бұрын
Bright, indirect light, which means bright light without the direct sun's rays which can burn the leaves. If you get full, direct sunshine in your south-facing window, you can pull it back from the windowsill or move it to a west-facing window. Water when all of the soil is dry. Let the water run through the soil and out the drainage holes, then discard the excess water in the tray.

Brown, squishy leaves usually means overwatering. An east-facing exposure may not be drying the plant out well enough. Try a terracotta pot that will dry out quickly and only water when the soil is completely dry.

@gardenstead
@gardenstead Жыл бұрын
Brown tips on an Aloe usually mean that the plant has been overwatered. Only water it when the soil is almost completely dry. Then water it thoroughly so that it runs through the pot and out the drainage hole. Empty any remaining water out of the dish or tray underneath the pot. (Make sure that your pot has a drainage hole so that water doesn't build up around the roots.) You can cut off the brown leaf tips and they should heal in a few days. Also, the best location for your Aloe is in bright, indirect light. Hot, direct sunlight will burn the leaves. Good luck!
