Don't drop things, just deconstruct them so you can get the materials back. This is very important for things that have paper because it's kinda rare to find and there are so many building pieces to unlock. Also when you are researching recipes, you can just learn them instead of crafting them. It comes in handy if you don't have a resource needed to craft it or don't want to waste a rarer resource. The longer you hold down the button for the bandage the more it heals you.

Tiny piece of advice: You'll have an easier time fighting those mushroom dudes if you eat some food before tackling a corrupted island. Since food will give you additional HPs, much like in Valheim. Stuff like berries etc. is okay but once you can cook food that's where the fun begins.

Great Video, It looks interesting. I have a fear of heights so I'm not sure I could take jumping off islands and flying around. Definitely want to see more of this

Love this game! Started it a few days ago. Since food has benefits in surviving decided to quit fighting to die so much and instead start learning how to prepare and cook food. And make many bandages. Need to be better prepared. Enjoying watching you figure it out and sometimes see something you do that I need to do. Subscribed.

A dorkip can be used to collect turf which is needed for turf roofs and bird feeders.

I agree that this is a very pretty looking game. The graphics help set the tone. An ancient world with "lost" technology and something that is corrupting the natural order. This should be a fun watch!

I see that the tutorial intended you to build a complete bridge and not just walk over scaffolding 😉 As well as the existing stumps, when you cut down a tree you can also get more wood from that stump. You should check the undersides of islands for secret ledges. I don't like the way the infection node appears to revive again only to die, it should just die immediately.

I tried the demo back then, too... On my old HP laptop... It was not playable with 1 - 3 FPS as I got then. I should probably try it again now that I have a PC that can actually run games. ;-)

Game does look good, I like the QoL effect for marking the items to be used in researching, and you zipped by a lot of things, that you could have Deconstructed to gain both resources and possible learning??? (not sure if you can learn from deconstructing)

There are so many things to deconstruct that if I did them all, I would never get to play the game and my inventory would be full.

Hi Surtr, in reference to an earlier comment I made asking if you plan to play 'Ark', I'd recommend you play Ark Evolved, NOT Ark Ascended as it's just an infuriating buggy mess. It looks spectacular and there are some very good quality of life additions but the number of flaws are innumerable (foliage too thick, fog everywhere, incomplete mesh, terrain that is practically unnavigable on foot or by large dino... etc!). It was released without being complete and it's poorly optimised (if at all). I really hope you decide to play Ark Evolved as it is one of the most exciting and enjoyable games. It might be worth viewing a few starter tips videos first to get the correct settings as it can be a bit confusing going into it blind. Looking forward to following your 'Aloft' series 👍👍

@@surtrplays I did not play this game but checked some other youtube channels, there the game sound is a little louder... Like the music the knowledge stones make is more clear and loud compared to your videos... In your episodes the game audio and music is dimmer(quieter) than your voice. Your voice is absolutely clear and audible.

The only problem i see is 1820`s graphics. I played video games since pong and i will not go backwards , waiting 40 plus years for realistic graphics and having software companies go backwards , I WILL NOT SUPPORT CHEAP COMPANIES who think cheap graphics are ok.

Realist games are great. There is room for smaller artist studios as well.
