We need to look at it through the lenses of 1973- not 2020. Please remember there were not treatment centers everywhere at this period of time, people did not discuss prescription drug addiction, and we were taught to trust our doctors and follow what they say. It is so sad that this huge talent could not get the help he needed. Also, noone on earth can get an addict clean, but the person himself. Let us just be thankful we has Elvis, and he shared his huge talent with us. I hope he is at peace.

Maybe I am wrong but he doesn't seem happy or really excited here. Maybe it's the drugs. It's just so sad...it's like his spark was gone...if only someone could have convinced him to get help. So talented, handsome and by all accounts, one awesome human being.

Brenda.....I was under the impression there was a cap on fee percentages, at least from an informal but still ethical industry standpoint. There really should be a legal limit though, in the same way entertainment contracts last a max. of seven years. Old man Parker got his grubby greedy hands on everything, freaking gambling junkie that he was.

Shame Elvis didnt seem to be able to dump that greedy fake colonal.....apparently his ma distrusted him but his dad said he was ok and was getting Elvis good deals...he even implied if Elvis dumped parker he could end up poor again driving a truck!!! Not sure if exactly true but his dad certainly didnt seem to do much to help! Also i dont understand why Elvis just said to parker he was going to other countries himself....for a holiday even! He definately got trapped with parker early, had his "friends" paid to stay by his side so in a way Elvis never really grew up and felt what its like to be on ur own & make the big decisions....his so called mates wudnt want Elvis changing any more than parker....despite their claims of "devoting" themselves to him...yeah its called a free ride...an unfortunately the gravy train crashed & burned suddenly!! Yet they still get paid for books, talks etc about being near Elvis 🙄😴 He gave his all...just sad as u say Brenda Booher, Elvis wudv made it anyhow....he just couldnt break away...money was nothing to Elvis btw thats why he agreed to such a stupid contract...it was the music & fans he loved....as he mentions in the piece, the connection was everything. U can see him deep breathing like he's so nervous during the interviews but holding it together....he really was a beautiful soul 🕊🤟🏼💞🙏

He says, "Make people happy for that one hour that he comes across". He was two people, the shy man who was manipulated by his "handlers" and the "Elvis" we see on screen and in concerts. In the end, the "handlers" won out and "Elvis", the entertainer, succumbed to the shy man we really never knew. Dead at 42 and very sad indeed.

ROCKINGMAN when people say the Col made elvis, I ask why didn’t he make another one? He held Elvis back too much. Elvis should’ve been able to tour overseas and make some quality movies from time to time. He did fire Col Parker once after his Vegas summer festival in 1973. After he fired him, the said he quit and went to his office and typed up an invoice which said Elvis owed the Col a million dollars. Col gave the invoice to Vernon, who took care of payroll and all the bills. Vernon panicked, not knowing where he’d get that much money at once to pay Col off. Vernon persuaded Elvis to reconcile with the Col. There’s no way Elvis owed Col that much money. If Vernon and Elvis were business smart, they would’ve hired an attorney and fought it.

Gary Wilson what’s messed up is Col sold Elvis’ publishing rights back to RCA in 1973 at the sum of $5.4 million. This deal only refers to recordings of any songs recorded before March 1973, not after. This made Col & Elvis a lot of money upfront, but it cost the estate millions in the long run.

Elvis did care for all his fans so very much. I heard a story sometime back when he was out in Ca. back in 69 when the Manson Murders was happening. Elvis had a lot of fans coming to his gate day and night Elvis became so worried about them at night he went out to the Gate and told them to please go home and lock your doors and if you do this I will come out to the gate everyday and talk with you. He told them he did not want something happen to them. He said promise me you will not come here at night until they find these people who are killing people he said if I see you out here I will not come out and visit you so do we have a deal? They said yes Elvis. And so they said it worked and Elvis would come out and visit with them and take pics with them and sign autographs. A couple of the fans had come out and talked about it also they said it made them love him even more. Elvis was really a Gifted, Talented, and a amazing soul . And not to mention one of the best looking man I have ever seen with a TRUE SOULFUL VOICE. He truly was a GIFT FROM GOD TO THE WORLD. He always said also WHY DID GOD CHOOSE HIM . He was always afraid one day he would wake up and it would all be gone and he would be back in poverty. He told many of his friends that his fans meant everything to him because he said if it was not for them I and my Mama and Dad and family would still be back in poverty. The fans was so important to him and it showed he gave us so much of himself. Beautiful man inside and out. May he rest in peace..

Elvis was clearly "out of it" during this interview. It's amazing he got through it, and the obvious is barely recognized or addressed as was back in the day. Elvis is struggling to answer the questions and his answers are very vague. He's sweating and often looking down at the floor or into space as if willing the interview to end so he could just lay down and sleep off whatever influence he's under. It's sad to watch this. Elvis is clearly in trouble and battling unsuccessfully with his addictions.

Elvis is so sincere and humble. I don't think that he ever got over his shyness and stage fright. I agree with the other person who posted a comment below. I think that Parker kept Elvis from doing something that he always wanted to do, , and that was touring and preforming in other countries. I truly believe that Tom Parker was a crook myself and I believe that Elvis would have made it with any decent manager and I guarantee that they wouldn't have been getting 50% of Elvis's earings. Parker was money hungry and didn't care about Elvis's health. He helped put the nails in Elvis's coffin by having Elvis do two shows a day in Vegas. My goodness, no wonder that Elvis had to have something to keep him going. Many have said that near the end that Elvis believed that Parker had him playing in Vegas to help pay off Parker 's gambling debts and I think that Elvis was right. All Parker was worried about was being imported if he let Elvis play in other countries because he was an illegal immigrant. It was so unfair that Elvis's fans in other countries never got to see Elvis preform live. R.i.p. Elvis. You will never be forgotten and are still loved around the world.

Yes. Parker was a scam. And Elvis exploited as he wanted. In the early years, he certainly promoted Elvis. But then he began to slow down, as an artist. It is a pity that due to the fears of this con Parker, Elvis was never able to meet on stage with his fans from other countries, except of course Canada. And a little in private in West Germany

Col.parker took half of what Elvis made and was a heavy gambler and would very often lose big money, as fast Elvis earned it he would lose it. And because he was an illegal immigrant not meant to be in America which is why he stopped Elvis was touring around the world because Parker new he couldn’t leave the country as he weren’t meant to be there in the first place. To me I think that is a very crafty, sly person who used Elvis big time , he made big money out of Elvis and stopped him from touring around the world because Of he’s own selfish self.

Look, colo parker this and that, who cares? It worked, even if it was or wasn't done by design. Elvis is larger than life in a sense and is to some for sure and is in reality, because of how it all played out. To say another manager this and that, and then what? Maybe Elvis monument next to martin luther king's ominous looking, arms crossed tyrant statue in D.C? It wouldn't be Elvis the King without some tradgedy to it. Just my opinion.

The person who has the Evidence Elvis is Alive page on Facebook is saying this video is proof that Jesse Elvis' twin brother survived birth and is shown in this video! LOL. That it is Jesse, and not Elvis, at the 6:21 mark of the video. LOL.

wow he was pretty wasted here in the first interview/promo, the way he is slurring his words, his eyes half closed, speaking with a 'double' tongue, ... probably an effect of the opiates he took. The man is a legend though. Love him !

He sure has darker eyes in that first interview, they look brown and I know he’s wearing tinted eyeglasses. His face appears longer and slightly different, wider too. He’s not gained the weight here either. 🤔 I wonder if people know that Jesse didn’t die at birth, their bloodline is incredible and up until the later years a secret. God bless him and Jesse! Btw everyone, Elvis and Jesse , Vernon are related to Donald Trump, JFK sr and junior and Julian Assange , Mussolini, General George Patton and Abraham Lincoln!!! Get ready the truth is way better than fiction! ♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️
