Sailed out of San Francisco 1955 SSMonterey to PagoPago AmSamoa via Honolulu,Ibelieve it was 5 days HNL we pulled in and was greeted ,before sunset we pulled out my Samoan relatives and family was saying goodbye to us as the tugs pushed her away and the Hawaiian Band played Aloha o’e and everyone was crying including I a afatasi boy with my mother and brother and sister enroute to TuTuila Samoa where we would live like natives for 5 years as half breed Samoan kids ,our father was a World War Two Marine who married my mother,a war Bride!!
