Aw I understand you may feel that pressure but honestly, I don’t think the goal of doing activities should EVER be just about getting into college. If you just do activities you love, you’ll naturally be proud and motivated regardless and THAT’s what colleges like to see! That you’re committed to something you care about. Try to approach it that way and not dwell on what colleges think. This should be about YOU and your growth at the end of the day.🌟

Yes, if you really want sth you just have to work as hell to get it. I didn't have the chance to apply to a international university, but I got a full scholarship in one of the best U in my country, plus some extra money for extra expenses. Maybe you don't achieve exactly what you want instantly, but you must focus on making progress every single day. Best wishes for everybody.

their extracurriculars are so amazing😩 I'll be applying for fall 2022 as an international student from Chile but my school doesn’t offer any types of clubs, organizations, i’m really worried about that cuz I don’t have any extracurriculars😩 I just swim and paint but those extracurriculars don’t really matter to admissions officers

In that case, look at Oxbridge. Their admission is moree merit based and not as much holistic approach popular in American schools

I'm so scared for the extra curricular part... in Sweden we do not have those things in school, so you have to find other places for it. I did horse riding from age 6 to age 14, I danced (outside of school) from age 5 to age 16, I did drama from age 11 to age 16, singing from age 12 to 16, violin from age 9-12, piano from age 12-16, scouts from age 6 to 14. then, to be able to go to the hs program I wanted to (high school here is grade 10-12, age 15/16-18/19) I had to move. In my new city everything cost SO much more than it did in my little home town, so in hs I have only been able to have one out of school activity at a time, especially due to the pandemic. It is so sad that the high school career is the only thing that counts, cause that does not showcase how I've been sticking with the stuff I'm passionate about for so many years

I remember back in 2015, when I was still young and stupid, one kid from our high school got accepted into Harvard. I lived in China back then, and that year only 5 or 6 kids from China got accepted into Harvard, with 4 of them being American-born citizens. He wasn’t. What a god

ooh yes it's great to check with the colleges! I know I emailed UCLA when I was a sophomore to ask about lab science requirements and it was super helpful. If your major isn't too math-heavy I think it may be more acceptable but ofc, check their websites to see their requirements and consult with your counselors. Generally though, a college likes seeing you challenge yourself if your school offers SL math though there are surely cases where people have gotten in without it. Good luck!! :)

a lot of colleges (esp. ivy league schools) do! They offer very generous financial aid and scholarships if you just do the research!🙌🏼 good luck!! It’s totally possible.
