Nor should you assume that just because they put someone with a familiar voice on the line, that that person is who you think they are, much less tell them the name you're guessing. Do call the police and see what they can do at the earliest opportunity, but you may be exposing yourself and your family to further danger by just spouting information the caller might not already know on the phone. signed, a guy from a place where scam calls are so common that my phone is disconnected at all times.

You see, some of the words in this game are in Korean and the girl also speaks in Korean so we know that this is based on Korea, and unfortunately, the legal system in Korea is absolute crap so that it is more on the side of the criminal instead of the victim, which is why criminals tend to get way less years of sentencing and the people who harm the people trying to hurt them as self defense get sentenced for more time than they ever should. This leads to a lot of protests from citizens whenever the court sentences people inadequately, which is quite often. There are so many recent major cases where the court gave awful and illogical sentences :(

@@sonofgreatsteppes9497 How is that better though? Being knocked out very easily leads to permanent brain damage. If you’re knocked unconscious for more than a few minutes, then chances are you’re not getting back up. Or at least you ain’t gonna be right in the head when you do. Sure it’s better than death, but honestly if you’re forced to inflict one or the other on someone else, then it shouldn’t be too much of a problem which one it is.
@sonofgreatsteppes94973 жыл бұрын
@@n0dash18 Knocking unconscious doesn't necessarily lead to permanent brain damage (depends on how hard you hit). It may lead to temporary damage, but if you by any chance hit the part of brain responsible for breathing then the victim (in this case assultant) will be unconscious and wouldnt be able to breath. And that might lead to permanent brain damage, if brain takes too much irreversible damage it ends up dying.

29:44 Since you asked about it, my guess is that some people put bricks in the tanks of flush toilets to cut down on water use. When toilet flushes, the tank drains. When the tank fills, it fills to a specific water line. By putting a brick in there (or something else that is relatively inexpensive, heavier than water, and takes up a lot of space), the tank has less volume to fill each time since a portion of it is taken up by the brick. Each flush drains less water this way, although you have to be careful since too little water (or a 'big job') will not flush the bowl out completely and you end up having to flush *multiple times,* which is obviously more wasteful than a normal flush. And now you know why there might have been a brick in the toilet. :y

There's some Fridge Logic to the brick. People with older toilets would put a brick in the cistern to make it use less water on a flush. The rest of the item locations were pretty stupid, though, excepting perhaps the album. I felt the exposition and dicking around was way too front-loaded on this. I was getting impatient, especially with the protag's repetitive whining and "you're a bad person!"ing. There should have been some gameplay interspersed with all that before the timer started, I felt - or cut out a lot of the exposition altogether and throw you in on a cold opening, because you find out everything important during the search. I wanted much more detailed preparation. Maybe not full Home Alone, but something to get me more invested than "I got a brick and shut a door". My favourite in the 'preparation horror' genre is definitely the Don't Escape series.

Just like in the video. We can't kill mugger. It would be illegal. Even hurting them is already a crime! What can we want from society like this? I know what I want. Yes, it may be foolish to want global peace since it's humans' nature to always try to make the best condition for your own ass. But it can be defeated. You don't believe me? "Yandere IRL", I'm sure people would call a case like this in real life something like that, even though it would be wholly inaccurate. A yandere's goal is to be with the person they love while they're alive and well; the whole 'yanderes kill their loved one' is a widespread falsity. If you think yanderes kill their lover, you're likely thinking of the similar yet vastly different trope, yandegire (yandeguire), or the other trope that is basically the jumping off point of a yandeguire, the 'yangire', who basically will kill or sow chaos as it suits them. (Funnily enough yandeguire is recorded as being a rare trope, when it's actually more common than actual yandere characters.)

@KomoraKriogeniczna3 жыл бұрын
Nah, sorry but it's you who is mixing that up. Yandere is motivated by love (and can pretty much kill you if in her twisted mind she feels it's for the sake of love) and Yangire is not (she can kill you for any other reason or no reason at all). Both are characterised by obsession (in Yangire's case it could be for example obsession for revenge) and mental unstability and both can commit multiple reckless crimes because of that (not necessarily murder). But really - motivation is the only difference. Yandere absolutely might want to kill her beloved, she's still a Yandere even if she does so.

Well then, it seems only Worthless Stuff can lead to a happy life. On a more serious note, I'm glad this game still allows for a more or less happy ending, because I really tire of horror games with only bad endings. That worked for some time, but now I'm just expecting that so yeah, it lost its impact. I also like the various clues about the protag not having friends, having been bullied in school and things like that. Thanks to that, it makes more sense for him to actually commit suicide in some of the endings where he survives at first. Clearly, despite what the opening tells us, his life isn't really that good, and he probably only thought that way since it got better once he started dating Euna - who got taken away from him too. So whatever horrible thing happens to him at the end, aside from the Worthless Stuff ending, is the "one thing too much", the breaking point - or at least the "beginning of the end" for him.
@justAnna36803 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I agree with this comment. One thing else i like about the game is that the protag in this game really didn't do that much to harm the killer (other than breaking up with her of course.) I think it make the game a tad bit original compared to other games that have the same kind of story. Usually in other games the protag ruined the killers life after the break up and usually the one spreading rumors. Also the subtle hints at him being bullied made the game better as well

So the only ending where he survives and lives a full and happy life is the one where he barricades himself with boxes in the laundry room? Not really “useless stuff” if you ask me... Also those other endings really suck... What infuriates me though is the ending where he kills the psycho, but gets sent to jail. And I’ve read comments where people say that self-defense cases are less enforced than here in America, but come on! I would LOVE to ask the court “If you were in this particular situation, what would you do? Just stand there and die? Or defend yourself even if it results in the death of the attacker?”. And the lack of sympathy for the dead girlfriend really grinds my gears. I see these sort of charity organizations pop up from time to time, but it saddens me when people just forget about these things and act like it doesn’t happen. Especially with that cold case ending. It almost makes me wonder if the creator of the game was trying to send a message about how their country reacts to these often VERY REAL cases in real life. Am I alone in thinking this?

It's just... it's not as if there wasn't EVIDENCE of it??? Because usually that's why those things happen, they couldn't find the evidence to prove their innocence, or that it was justified but... THERE'S TWO DAMN BROKEN DOORS????!!!!!! That is unmistakable evidence of a violent break in.

Ya, finally someone's pointed out the Euna part. That being said, the phonecall--- although goofy due to Eng-second-language translation stuff---- was surprisingly well executed. It was quite upsetting to sit thru, and made me wish for some sort of 'she's still alive!' ending.
@testsandrandomthings2 жыл бұрын
29:45 "Why is there a brick in here" There is actually a really good explanation for that. Considering this is an old Korean game. You used to put a brick in the toilet water tank so that you will use less water when flushing. Economical really. Not really useful in modern times.

Yeah, especially with the color changes. I thought orange meant the killer and white meant the protag, then the protag started using orange and red... Also, and this is a nitpick, but the protag just yammered on and on. Like, a killer is coming to kill him to death, and he just reminisces and wastes time talking to himself.

Simple, you only have 8 minutes to prepare for a serial killer ex to come after you, simply get the LAW light anti tank weapon, strictly for home defense and begin the loading process. Then , just wait
I know this is a video game but I'm just confused about how the protagonist got arrested for murder after: A. There was very likely evidence that Soyeong had murdered Euna that same night. B. The power had been tampered with. C. The house was visibly broken into as the bathroom door's lock was smashed open. D. Soyeong was visibly armed at the time of her death. E. Clear motive for Soyeong's attempt on the protagonist's life. Then again, this may take place with a less than just legal system I am unaware of. Just wanted to lay down my thoughts here.

South Korea (along with a couple other asian countries) have overly strict self-defense laws. For the most part they make sense, someone shouldn't be looking to use self-defense, it's a last resort in any moral society. However where in much of the US we are too light on it where even the slightest hint of fear is reason enough to kill someone, they go on the opposite extreme where pretty much any preparation to fight back, no matter how warranted, is not allowed. If for example something happened where the protagonist struggled with the knife against his attacker and the attacker died as a result? There's a good chance he'd have gotten off. The moment he grabbed the brick with the intention of using it as a weapon before the fight even began however? That's a no-go. So while I'd argue that their system is more likely to reduce needless death overall... it definitely does go overly far in not taking into account extreme circumstances.

@@FluffyDragonDrawing The phone calls are also proof. If the protag testifies the 2 calls happend and that he heard Euna dying, the phone company would very easily be able to verify that the calls occured and who the caller and recipient were each time. It's irrefutable evidence, even if the exact conversation is not documented. Protag knowing Euna is dead would also further bolster the evidence, cause how else would he know she's dead if he hadn't heard or been told on the phone?
