DETAILED SUMMARY: For the final time Todd woke up, more aware that he was well, awake again. It took a hot minute but he was able to push himself upwards and sit himself up right. His left side felt sore from laying down for so long, but the other was way worse. he didn't even bother to move his right arm- he felt pain stinging in certain spots from dark blotches of color on his skin, in whole however his arm felt dead- it hurt to move it even slightly. So instead to help keep himself up he used his left arm to put his hand on the wall and push against it. A big mistake as he felt his hand also starting to sting- but it also felt wet? He moved his hand off to see the sight of a red mark on the wall right where his palm had been- surprised he turned his hand over to see it also starting to see it turn red- quite fast too. He was bleeding- did he stretch out the wound and reopened it? As a matter of fact why the hell was he hurting so bad- A glint of light caught his eye as he looked upward- catching himself in the mirror. He could see his body fully- he was covered in bandages from his shoulders, arms, and throat. Seeing the gauze on his face suddenly reminded his brain that that area was in pain too, feeling a sting from his cheek. But the sight of himself made the memories of what just happened to him hit him like a brick. He was attacked. No he should’ve been killed- but he was still here? How the hell- He remembered the memory's pain as one of the royal guards proceeded to step on his throat, increasing the pressure with each second- Todd couldn't defend because his arms were damages- and his wings- his wings.. His attempt to turn his head was quickly rethought from the soreness- he could see the tip of his feathers out of the corner of his eyes though. But that was it- otherwise he could only feel how they were closed tightly- they were constricted with something at the top of them. He felt how the areas that were shot and crushed pulsed and sent waves of pain up to his brain- which was still pounding somehow. He was slightly panicking now- he didn’t know where he was at, questioning himself where he could be- and what even happened- how did he get here? A flash of Varian's face popped up into his mind- the look he gave him before he sent the guards after him- it was one he's never seen before. Well, not one he's seen directed at /him/. He's seen Varian look angry but never once at him, it honestly scared him when he saw the hatred aimed at him for once. "Why would he look at me like that?" Todd pondered to himself trying to think of different possibilities. He remembered the faint quote from before when he woke up for the 2nd time, it was fuzzy but he remembered the last line vividly: "Anyone beaten up this bad was probably someone who deserved it." Deserved? he thought- Did I do something wrong? What did I do? Todd felt as his mind swarmed with memories- trying to trace back any moment he could think of that could've been wrong, any moment where he messed up- maybe he was being ignorant and was blind to it? Maybe he didn't realize- or maybe he was being a jerk without realizing it. What was it?? Was it that detestable? He felt as tears started streaming down- which didn’t help his situation at all. He was scared, nervous- was this it? They were done like that? They couldn’t fix it? More and more questions flooded his mind as he curled into himself- he wanted to get away- to go home. Back to their room, their bed, just go there. Rather though now he was stuck and flightless and injured and he was scared. Eventually the tears stopped- he was too tired, mentally and emotionally drained, he wanted to sleep but his adrenaline forced him to stay up, he was still wary of where he was at and knew subconsciously he wasn’t fully safe. With his side still sore though he leaned against the wall which gave some relief. And now he would wait- wait for whatever will come next in the morning, or rather who. He remembered the people from before, hoping they would leave him alone and not do anything more to him. There was nothing he could do right now though, he was stuck. It wasn’t silent however, his mind was still running through questions and moments. god he wished he could apologize.

Really just need to complement you for sec- This is the BEST Oc animatic series I’ve ever watched!! The drawings are clean and easy to read, I have time to pause and read dialogue, A DETAILED SUMMARY?? Almost never happens! OH and when new characters are introduced, in the start of the video YOU TELL US WHO THEY ARE!! Usually I don’t like oc animatics bc I don’t know what’s going on, but this is wonderful!!

This is absolutely amazing! Even with my extensive vocabulary, I don't have the correct grasp on the English language to adequately convey how absolutely awesome this is. I'm pretty sure that Varian is under a spell or something, and that it was cast by the Sovereign (or one from the past) and it DEFINITELY has something to do with the four rings he wears on his arms. That's just my theory, I'm not entirely sure tho.

I’m so emotionally invested in this series it hurts. I have a few theories, honestly maybe I’m overanalyzing and making this crrazier than it truly is, but I’m almost sure that Varian must be under some spell - or even possesed. We know that he was called to serve under the direct leadership of his kind. So, as they saw his potential to possibly overturn the hierarchy, they put a spell or brainwashed him to follow the rules. It makes it more plausible as we see in “Fond” that Varian did return to Todd and while not 100% the same -which in and of itself may be a sign of possible conflict between him, his training and the leaders forcing him to go through the rules of the nation, but I digress - he was still **fond** of Todd. They shared happy moments together, and I don’t think he would so easily try to hurt his SO. Ugh, I swear it’s always the angsty stuff I can’t put down. I know I will suffer with this story, but it’ll be worth it. Even with only 3 animatics, this has already become one of the stories I’m most personally invested in. You’re doing an amazing job not only in storytelling but illustrating. Keep up the good work, and see you in the next animatic, where I am surely expected to cry.
