your reviews are so balanced and detailed, quite refreshing.... I have flown la Première several times, the issue that I had was the constant chattering of the crew, including loud laughing, during the night (mostly LA to CDG flights and back). @@Trektrendy Thanks for the video. AF has a superior product but a generally inferior service. It is well known within the industry. I'm repeating something I answered to someone else: I worked with an Asian airline for a long time. It is absolutely unthinkable you would return from the bathroom to your First class seat and find your empty dirty dishes still uncollected, and even less acceptable that the call button be left unanswered for 10 minutes! Especially as the First class was empty, there's normally a crew of 3 at the front in that aircraft, and even if one is dispatched to help at the back, no cabin can be left unattended for obvious reasons. Imagine if you're sick and need assistance? How do they get away with not answering the call button in a compartment with only one passenger? Not professional! Sadly, AF crew's questionable mentality ruins the experience. They tend to feel more important than the customers and don't even make efforts to hide it. I've seen the same thing in another video not too long ago where they even forgot to serve a couple of items in the First class meal (a soup, a side and bread)! On codeshare flights, I often received comments from AF passengers who told me similar stories, even one asking for coffee in business class who was answered she'd make it once she'd be finished reading her magazine. I'm not making it up. Being partly French, I feel embarrassed by such behavior. It must have been better in the past.

I have flown La Premiere 3 times on the LAX-CDG route...The hard product is fantastic and well done; the small details are very well refined and food/wines are great. Lounge is second to none. I will also that the service is a bit hit or miss. On the 6 sectors I flew I would say the service was excellent on 3 on just good on the other three. Some examples- forgot to bring salad after meal; dropped one of the desserts (the one I wanted) so had to eat another. One crew member seemed very tired and almost just to go through motions. Agree for 10K roundtrip service should be flawless..Best part is car transfer at CDG- truly fantastic.

When you left you left the curtains closed so the staff may not have seen you go to the bathroom or didn't know whether you had finished your meal or not or believed you were still in your seat. @@Trektrendy Thank you for your reply. On the video it's obvious that the curtains weren't open enough to warrant any action on your table. You walking passed the galley to go to the bathroom says nothing about whether they should clear your table or not. If anything you could have told them that you had finished your meal and asked that they clear the table. Anyway taking an action with the curtains close without being expressly asked is a major faux pas for most passengers flying La Première. It would be perceived as very intrusive. The waiting time after ringing the bell is indeed unacceptable. Although depends on whether there were issues like safety issues and the cabine crew had to stay put. Same if you said that you wanted your meal at time ABC and it didn't happen. But that's very unusual, even unheard of. Perhaps the mishaps after restarting the service, inexperienced team or you not being lucky etc.

@Trek Trendy, definitely a little surprising when he exited the BMW the driver didn't open his door & remove is luggage from the trunk of the BMW. The long delay for the supper comes from the facts that the food often arrives frozen, and then the meals in la Première are dressed on board (really, the dishes are prepared on board, out of kits) by the same crew member that takes care of the pilots, these latter have priority by law and they will very often be hungry right after take off… That put aside, the hot dishes will need minimum 30 minutes in those aircraft ovens. I’m afraid your attendant did his very best and as fast as he could, knowing he does the cooking AND the service. Will, a thoroughly entertaining video and review. I find the service oddly lacking, I don’t understand why they couldn’t arrange a chauffeured car for your pick up to CDG. I’m baffled at not having a separate security line for VIPs/Celebs when they’ve obviously gone to the trouble of making locating the Premiere lounge difficult and when they have a private passage to security. The service and food/drink in the La Premiere lounge itself was excellent, as was the quick drive over to the plane. Why is the Hertz branding so prominent? I get that they wouldn’t want to own the vehicles but the branding feels excessive. I have to say that the onboard product seemed lacking to me, while the space was nice, the seat was nothing special, pulling a curtain for privacy seemed highly inadequate. And why ask when you want the meal if they are then going to delay getting it to you?

Great review, in the background of your video you can clearly see another passenger at the 10.26 - 10.29 Min mark. Did they move another passenger up to first class?

Hey will, I just watched your video and I wanted to point a few things out about Air France's first class in case you ever give us another video on it. 1) It tries to stay fitting to its french heritage (most of the staff speak french even in non french destinations + the food is very french, with bread, butter, foie gras etc...) 2) foie gras is meant to be eaten with bread, in case you want to try again, it's either you love it or you rlly don't like it. I really liked this video. all the best. Pablo

I've never heard of foie gras until now. I had to look it up why it was being banned in some places. If I ever try it I'll remember to eat a piece with bread.

What a grand disappointment with the in- flight service. I will say that my favorite parts of your videos are your loo reviews and pajama changes. The pajamas fit very well on you. Better luck next time. Ciao

Is it possible they’re flying with a reduced crew compliment due to the pandemic?

Still think I prefer Emirates first class on the A380 ;) Nothing beats a shower on a plane! Great food, champagne… Flown it a few times from Australia to Auckland back before COVID-19… loving your videos! :)

You're one of those youtubers where I find their reviews and start binge watching them. Your videos are amazing just like Vicarious Voyager. However they're kinda short and I understand you might not want to make longer videos but that's the only thing that I would change.

I like the length of his videos. I don't need a documentary.

Great video. I must admit I found the service similar to yourself and not what I would have expected from their premier product.

So.... the airport VIP treatment and lounge is easily much better than the flight itself.... Ah... ok😇
@tihspidtherekciltilc54693 жыл бұрын
Yet costs them pennies when compared to the floor area taken on the plane but even that only takes up about four first class seats so mucking up meal service is inexcusable for the price and having the tackiness of putting Hertz on the limo.

That premiere best in class service begins with an Ober? Queue record scratch. I flown many airline first class packages and have to say I’m not blown away by Air France’s package. Emirates smash this out of the water. Great vid. Can’t wait to get back in the sky.

4:17 Aie aie aie l'Orezza! My favorite sparkling water, however i must criticize your non use of bread for the foie gras and the cheese 😁 Foie gras gets even better with lemon but it's not systematically served with some since it's not a super mainstream convention

How did you book this flight? La Premiere is really hard to book, even when using points.

What do you mean really hard to book? Do you mean availability or the high price?

Please, for all strangers wich come in France, please eat french cheese with a good french bread ! It will be muuuch better than alone. (For good bread, go into little « boulangerie » or if you can’t, look for what french calls « pain de campagne »)

I’ve always been a bit curious about this. How are you able to afford these flights? Is it purely sponsor revenue and or passive income generated by KZbin or perhaps a seperate side hustle?
@snakepond2 жыл бұрын
I flew La Premiere last week CDG-DXB. The whole experience was truly awesome, the club, the shower, the club food, the flight, the service, the in-flight meal, the car service(s). When I arrived at DXB, I was met by private escort who whisked me through customs 😀. Not having to deal with boarding at the gate and being escorted directly to the plane, and then to your seat was on another level. I sat in the same seat , 1A. By the way, it looks like you stayed at the Shangri-La Dubai, I stayed there as well. What did you think of the hotel?

Thanks for the review of the flight. A shame about the sub standard service, and as you said first class and over $10,000 for the ticket. Air France should lift their game.
@lala-ct9ir2 жыл бұрын
The "sub standard service" is what I would be looking for at this price point. I don't want crew hanging around me at all times. If I want something I'll let them know.

I just started watching your videos. Very entertaining. Just wondering, isn't Cristal ($300+) which is more expensive than Dom Perignon ($250+) which is more expensive than Krug ($175) the best champagne to order on first class or do they just not offer it? Thanks.

As a flight attendant, I feel I need to brief the masses on several things. The concept behind First Class is all about privacy, not luxury. Don't look at Emirates or Qatar Airways' and assume that's the standard for First Class. In reality, real rich people can be really paranoid, can be really particular, so it's all about understated, unintrusive customer service... and it's the little things that matter. For example, only on First Class will you actually find a lie flat product that's actually a bed. Business Class flat beds are... really just a really narrow wooden plank that's beautifully decorated. It's really not as comfortable as it looks. That's foie gras terrine, which is significantly lighter in flavor. In any case, it's 2021. Foie gras is generally done sustainably now, which IMHO takes away a lot of the umami from it. Foie gras today will simply mean "duck/ chicken/ any poultry" liver.
@radhiadeedou82862 жыл бұрын
You say it's mainly about privacy then give an example that has nothing to do with privacy And what's "real rich people"?

Thank you for the review and for not wearing those awful torn up pants. For you to be in first class and almost not given any service I wonder how they treated the business and coach class ?
@danielkegel7723 жыл бұрын
I guess you booked this using Flying Blue miles? That is an impressive feat since Air France only has 76 La Premiere seats in the entire fleet (19 aircraft with 4 seats each), you have to be at lease Flying Blue Gold to even be able to redeem award space for La Premiere and to cap it off they want at least 175.000 miles for CDG-DXB one-way - but it could be much, much more since there is no fixed award chart. By contrast, First on Emirates on the same route is 85k miles (or a 39k upgrade from Business)

Will, I enjoyed this comprehensive review. I was quite surprised that you had such slow service especially since it looked like you were the only passenger in the First Class cabin. I saw nothing that would cause me to book Air France over a First Class suite on a Singapore Airlines A-380. For many years I have been and will continue to be a loyal and happy customer of the true premier service offered on my all time favorite airline, SQ. 👍❤🇸🇬🛫💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Thanks for your review. Looking forward to what you will be up to next. Take care and have a rewarding week.

Mate, if you're paying $300 retail for Krug NV, I'd change your supplier! Same applies to your choice of restaurant if you're paying $100 for that steak. Grand Siècle is pronounced Gron-See-Air-Cl. I'm impressed they got you some Krug, is that normal for that lounge? the only lounges I've had that in recent years is Singapore Private Room and Qatar Al Safwa pre pandemic, although in Al Safwa it only comes back occasionally, around Christmas & New Year, and I don't think SQ have it in the Private Room any more at all nowadays. That was crap on board service: I can only assume that the FA was down the back or on crew rest. On BA, Qatar and Emirates when I've been the only soul in F there's always at least one crew in the galley: and I feel sorry for them, they must get really bored. I'm the other way regarding caviar, using it as a garnish is a bit of a waste of good caviar IMHO. Blinis are infamously bad in the air, they dry out and there's never enough: plain white fresh crusty bread is a good alternative. Foie Gras is just goose or duck liver, it was served to you as a slice of terrine: to enjoy it, you really need to get the wine right, and it's definitely not a bone dry Champagne, you need something off dry like a Sauternes. Foie Gras is also often served pan fried and it's a completely different experience to a pâté en terrine: you won't ever get that on a plane though, it's prepared a la minute. I'm not a massive fan of either on their own, but sometimes the pan fried can be quite the experience if the chef knows what they're doing: gingerbread & pan fried foie gras, or as a poultry stuffing/accompaniment for example. There wasn't really anything there that made me think Michelin star I'm afraid, much more brasserie standard I'm afraid.

I give you alot of credit with how much you fly! When I was younger I had no problem but now I have the worst anxiety ever and now if I cant drive somewhere I wont go! Lol but maybe if I had the money to fly first class it may be easier for me...idk how you do it!
