i feel like you would suit chicago well! great food, similar weather (for better or for worse), decent public transportation, diverse neighborhoods, lots of cafes & bookstores, plus still a big city feel but overall less chaotic than nyc

Chicago is much colder and has a lot more snow than NYC. Cold I can deal with, but hate deep snow and a lot of ice. It cramps my style walking around, always worried I will slip and fall. To me the closest to NYC is Washington DC. People think it’s all politicians and Republicans but it’s actually super cool with great public transportation and tons of bookstores and a great music scene.

@georgiasmith7615 unfortunately due to the changing climates, chicago winters are getting more mild 😭 if people can handle nyc in january then i really don’t think it’s that much worse. i’ve been to DC the environment is a little too sterile, there’s more vibrancy and culture in the chicago neighborhoods which i think is what a younger crowd wants

@ There are lots of cool neighborhoods in DC that are interesting to young people. It’s not sterile at all. People just don’t know the cool areas of DC as well as other cities. The areas around Union Market, 14th Street, Logan Circle, Shaw are great. Maybe you didn’t go to the right areas!
