Wild Camping Ethos 🏔️ Camp above the highest fell wall, well away from towns, villages and lake shores. 🗑️Leave no litter - this includes not burying any litter and removing other people's if you find it. ❌ Don't light any fires, even if there is evidence that fires might have been lit. ⏳Stay for only one night. 🏕️ Keep groups very small - only one or two tents. 👀 Camp as unobtrusively as possible with inconspicuous tents which blend in. 🌿 Leave the campsite as you would want to find it. 🎒Carry out everything you carried in. 👝Carry out tampons and sanitary towels. Burying them doesn't work as animals dig them up again. 🌾Choose a dry pitch rather than digging drainage ditches around a tent or moving boulders. 🕳️ Perform toilet duties at least 30 metres from water and bury the results with a trowel. 🐑 At all times, help protect the environment and respect other visitors and communities. ✌🏼Wherever you pitch, please remember that the landowners or their representatives have the legal right to order you to break camp and move on. Writing from Northern California. Living in a culture where being an obnoxious loudmouth is somehow considered admirable, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your gentle, soft spoken voice. It's rarer than gold, and even more beautiful.
@FablesandFells Жыл бұрын
I can't tell you how much that means for those of us quiet folk who get told we're "too quiet" our whole lifes! Being quiet was always seen as a negative at school, college and in the workplace. You need to speak louder... Be more outgoing... Put yourself out there more... Be chattier... What's wrong with you... So thank you, it's rare to have quietness appreciated 🙏🏼

I find strength, courage and peace watching your videos. Your choice in music, the scenery, editing and how you look at life , nature and yourself is absolutely inspiring and beautiful. I'm originally from whiston England but moved to alberta Canada when I was 6 years old and been living here ever since. All last week we had lots of rain and cold winds but that didn't stop me from going out mountain biking and hiking. Unfortunately I ended up getting pneumonia. I've been slowly recovering which is lovely. Just wanted to take time to say thank you for your amazing videos and for the inspiration to find the strength within myself.

Where I live is a very different landscape to walk in. I am sandwiched bet the coast with its beaches and rocky coastline, and the coastal mountains with sandstone cliffs that reach a height of 800 metres. They are covered in rainforests. Thank you for sharing. I am going to check out some of your other videos.

Thanks for watching John! That's funny, I've had quiet a few expats living in Australia watching my videos. A future Lakeland full length film maker i think 👍 My friend Terry Abraham of " Life Of A Mountain" trilogy only started off with photography, then KZbin some 12 or so years ago.. Making films and documentrys now for the BBC and nature channels plus other charitable and promotional work. His latest film " Cumbria Red " is a full length documentry regarding the plight of our native red squirrels and particularly the lakeland reds. Great content, very calming and therapeutic. The combination of great footage, music and your calm voice, combines brilliantly to depict The Lake District.

Love this! Another beautiful video, you're so lucky to have this on your doorstep. Makes me want to go wild camping on my own too.
