"Once you learn to love the harshness, the cold, the discomfort...then there is nothing left to hold you back and that, right there, is the recipe to success." - Remi Warren
-Elk hunting in Montana can provide enough challenges as it is, but doing it alone and battling the elements makes success that much sweeter.

Dude this is a sick ass video! I also appreciate the fact that there are guys like this out there representing hunters in a positive way, showing the underlying ethical, moral side of what we love is just as important as the adventure! Remi you are using your platform to support us with dignity, and I am very grateful!!

I feel like I can connect to these words as I am after more of the challenges of the hunt than the successes. Which being an adult on-set Hunter I feel the weight of failure often but I am accepting that it won’t be fun all the time.

your such a wise person for a young fella. I really love watching your videos.ive hunted in all sorts of weather over here in new zealand and loved every minute even if i didnt get a animal just been in the bush is the best part. My last few trips before i had to give it up health reasons i sat and watched the deer without even killing them

Hands down my favorite hunter Remi! .. the thought process that u and Steven Rinella take me theough.. are to me priceless.. some day i hope to be able to aford such a majestic, pain-full.. time of joy! Godspeed! -0scarr .. what u said tonight i learned and have been saying 20 years ago.. I’ve learned to be comfortable with the uncomfortable.. with discomfort .. a good way to “earn” such privileges..

I love this video remi and I feel that I can really relate to your outlook on hunting, especially elk. I always think about the want and need to suffer and hurt so I can feel I earned the opportunity on the animal when I'm presented with one, and I feel a large part of that with my solo pack outs and why I'm not afraid to hunt deeper than most because that's what I feel will reward me and what I can look back on the most!

Just wish I had an area like that. Where the elk are just going to walk right down on the farmlands or I don't see Washington California and other license plates in my state. Hunting isn't as enjoyable when you have out of state competition and farmlands were farmers won't put up fences to keep the animals out. The same farmers that let their cattle ruin all of the mountain side where the wild need to eat. Thank you for another awesome video Remi!!

I spent 13 years hunting alone, in the outback of BC, once took a couple of friends, was 17 below. We dug a hole in the snow and filled it with cedar bows and moss, and put a tent fly over it. In the morning the fly was solid ice, best sleep ever both were so cold they were each covering half of me. They never came again but its still a good story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short film. The struggle, pain and effort that go into a back country hunt is what I dream about all offseason. Super legit stuff here man. That kill shot was about as cool as I’ve seen. The blood spray hitting the snow was incredible. Thank you for doing what you do and for being as good at it as you are. God bless.

Wow 😮 I can feel the story unfold, but thankfully not the cold. Many things in life that's worth having is worth struggling for. You, Jason Matzinger, Tim Burnett and Steve Rinella are my favorite hunt storytellers and filmographers. That fancy Tikka aka Sako in one of our favorite calibers the 300 WSM did the job, but you had to suffer to get to that moment.

I get it. I've hunted extensively in Africa. I hunted a lion that took days and a total of over 25 miles of walking in the Kalahari desert. It made it very worth it when I finally shot him. I also have taken some plains game after just minutes of walking and getting lucky. It doesn't make one less ethical than the other, but you do feel more accomplished when you work for it. That being said...... this is just basically glorified deer hunting. You're not out in the woods for a week hunting the Taliban or hunting a bear with a sharp stick. No need to make it seem more hardcore than it is. You're camping and hunting.. Now that being said...... this is an awesome video. The camera work was top notch.
