I also found out there was a wreck at 1:02 on the site the CNJ Bethlehem depot, In 1927 the Scranton Flyer crashed into the Lehigh Limited via head on collison

Great movie clips. As a youth I saw many steam engines go by our house in Long Branch. Thanks for the memories.

I just realized that at 1:02 that is CNJ 833. One of the original Blue Comet locos!
@GreenbeanProductions3 жыл бұрын
@Riley Schultz yeah they ran in my home state and that when the blue comet ran its last time in 1941 (witch it ran from 1929-1941) they where painted black for WWII and cause they didn’t really need them in that paint because the train was already discontinued and 810 got to pull the last steam excursions of the CNJ but scraped later on
@Voucher7653 жыл бұрын
That steamer was scrapped unfortunately but to see it running as late as the 1950s indicates a chance that it could be saved because other locomotives were being donated to museums or private owners.

I was in Scranton in October of 2017 and there is an abandoned train yard with old Erie Lackawanna train cars just sitting. I took amazing photos of them. I wonder what happened to the tracks? I figure now they’re all freight lines if they’re not abandon.

The CNJ 833 could actually be saved as she is seen in service during the 1950s which was pretty late for locomotives like her because it also pulled the Blue Comet a decade or so before

Does anyone know if any of the CNJ Camel Backs were saved from being scrapped? The CNJ Locomotives with the Stripes, Statue Of Liberty and the Jersey Central Lines is by far my favorite out of all other Railroad Logos
@thereadingg39455 жыл бұрын
Two CNJ steamers survive. 0-6-0 #113 is on the Reading and Northern, and 4-4-2 camelback #592 is at the B&O Railroad Museum.

@bhomas_real6 жыл бұрын
Michael G 1900s and up Nope that was a Reading steam locomotive. The one painted black was the CNJ 831. This might be her or her sister 0:00
