I can totally understand her depression. Some people do think like the dr, saying "it's only hair." I lost my eye at 25, and am on my 3rd prosthesis. i still don't like to go out, tho the eye was completely yellowy/white w/blurry streaks (from so many surgeries trying to get sight back that i lost at 10.) It looked like a "monster eye" (yes, people actually said that to me.) But it was mine. Its no less traumatic than losing my sight was, (i was hit w/a softball.) 4x loss: sight/looks/eye/looks
