At the end of the MV, No More Dream is the name of their first single. Then it changes into “Dream.” We are supposed to continue fighting for our dreams, not the dreams of others.

This has got nothing to do with this reaction (I think) but it’s interesting to observe Yoongi’s performances before/after his shoulder surgery. Like, now that he performs without pain it’s extra obvious to me how during the ON performance he mostly uses one arm and only the other when needed in choreography. Maybe it’s because my mom got a new hip and I’m constantly looking at her improvements and documenting them, but like damn. New moment of realization that he’s been fighting through that pain and I’m extra grateful for all of his efforts. Health is important, people! Anyways, let me get back to watching the video. Only got ten minutes left. 😂💜

The locations for the MV's are just north of Los Angeles. The rock - which is called Kirk's Rock because of its appearance in Star Trek movies - is located in Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Agua Dulce. The hills are probably somewhere near Vasquez rocks or maybe the foothills of Angeles or Los Padres National Forest. The Kinetic Manifesto was filmed at Sepulveda Dam in Van Nuys. The drum line in the song recording is made up of members of UCLA marching, concert, and jazz bands. The drum line in the video is the Blue Devils.

Fallon's team coordinated the whole process well with the Station Management to make sure nobody noticed when BTS team was brought in and hidden on the 2nd Floor of the station while waiting for the station to close at 12 midnight.

On is (among other things) an answer or continuation of one of their earliest songs N.O. There, they talk about standing up to injustice and specifically adults who want to force all kids into the same mould. Now they have helped themselves. They aren’t perfect, but they have reached a point in their lives where they aren’t just fighting for themselves, they also try to help others. Also: “No more dream” is the title track from their first album. It’s about how young people are forced to abandon their dreams and spend way too much time and energy on school because the system forces them to compete with their classmates in order to succeed. BTS has always written pointent music with important messages.

Worldwide Handsome is Jin. The guy with the vines on his neck was V (very easy to mix up the 2 in the beginning)...in Kinetic Manifesto his cheek said "The Shadow Like Me". The whole album (Map of The Soul:7) revolves around ideas from Karl Jung's book "Map of the Soul" and there are recurring themes of shadow, ego, persona etc. Everything they do is deep and always with great production value...they don't skimp on anything. Yes...Kinetic Manifesto and Black Swam were both shot in LA the same week. If you really want to understand how much of an underdog they really were, I would strongly suggest reacting to the KZbin series "The Rise of Bangtan"....it's an incredible fanmade documentary (by a professional editor by day) and really gives great insight into the idol system, the barriers they faced and hate they received from the beginning as well as giving us some cultural references and clarity, all by using BTS old footage to story tell very cohesively. Yes...everyone loves a good underdog story, but also the fact that they have remained so humble throughout and attribute all of their success to the fans makes us love them even more. I'm not exactly sure when they filmed the Grand Central Station, but I had read that they rented it out from 1 am to 5 am and filmed the routine repeatedly until they were happy with one...it must have been exhausting because it's an intense dance. Yes..it was right before all the first lockdowns for the pandemic. The dancers were a group they had worked with in the past from LA (called The Lab). They were also their dancers for their recent in person concerts. I enjoyed your reaction....off to watch part 2.

though mv might seem as a separate story, imo it goes right with the meaning of the song. mv images are full of the representation of hope among destruction and loss, the light alongside the dark. RM representing Noah near to the crushed ship, Jin who found the dead dove (which is an obvious symbol of hope) and turned it back to life in the end after a LOT of tries (look how many cages in his room), Suga is in some spiritual place that's the last resort of human faith, though it's in black and red colours, Jimin with the abandoned drums which symbolise beating of heart or rhythm of life, but then boy finally plays it, blindfolded girl due to their previous story with blindfolds looks like innocence or 'inner child' that connects to V's solo song from the same album and her eyes are now open toward the world behind the wall, Jungkook always looked for me like a dove himself - the representation of peace and hope - he escapes and now free. and all of these characters have in them the power or the purpose or the will to move forward and not be stuck in the place they don't like. so they change it and make it a better world to live in basicly: have hope in yourself and don't give up on your way despite the struggles, accept the pain and make it your source of strength, keep going ON and you'll find your heaven and reach your DREAM also BTS have two old songs from their career start: N.O and No More Dream. so ON and 'DREAM' in the end (and the album name "7" that reflects that it's been 7 years from their debut with 7 members) kind of complete the cycle and point to the whole journey they had, where they also have learnt who they are and how to love themselves along the way

Yes, the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Center, a Park, at Burbank Boulevard, Los Angeles CA. When we went out to LA for a BTS concert in Dec. at SOFI stadium, We went the Sepulveda Dam as a tourist attraction. It was a blast! The thing you should about BTS they are very into the theories of Carl Jung. Shadows & light. Good vs. evil. To me this video was their calling card to the U.S. Music Industry. They knew how hard breaking in was going to be but they were willing to go through the pain. They did not speak the language They've been through the pain before. Their company was teetering on bankruptcy. Big Hit couldn't ever afford to promote them They understood the pressure they are going to encounter. They know about the bigotry they have to face. But they did know one thing for sure, they knew that they had their ARMY behind them, to at least give them a shot at success. I truly believe that if covid would not of hit, they would have taken over the world and ON would have been a hit song.

The lyrics are a bit difficult to fully grasp out of the context of the album series. This song is from their Map of the Soul series, which explores the Jungian concepts of the self: persona, shadow, and ego. Each of the 3 rappers have solo songs with those titles, which give you an overview of the album series: Jungian psychology as applied to BTS and their journey as individuals and a band. They are a very musically and lyrically deep group and to fully understand their art requires exploring all of it as well as listening to them talk about it 😂 it’s a lot haha 💜

The lines, "Gotta go insane to stay sane and Throw myself whole into both worlds..." And the whole song for that matter...I interpret it as, experiencing and understanding insanity to become sane. To know the dark, to become the light. Life is full of shadows and shades of gray that understanding that will help you make good choices to become a better person. Hence, immersing yourself into both worlds. If they sound good in their MVs. Can't wait for you to watch their live performances. They are awesome! That's why their concerts are always sold out.

- Jin does call himself World Wide Handsome BUT it's because he thinks it's funny that he's considered handsome all over the world. 😂 At the same time he has stressed that he definitely does not consider himself the most handsome man in the world. Subtle but important difference. 😉 In fact Jin is very shy and uses it to boost himself as well as lighten the mood to make the others relax. 😂 - There's a separat half-hour documentary about UCLA's part in this. - JK even did those high notes jammed into a backseat in Carpool Karaoke which just blows my mind. - The ON mv is sooo packed with symbolism that it requires watching an explanation video to fully grasp it. That's why we tend to recommend the Kinetic version to new ARMYs. It showcases their dancing abilities more as well. - The girl at the start of the Kinetic video is Sienna Lalau. It's her dance company and choreography and she was only 19 at the time! 😯 - No More Dream is the song they debuted with in 2013. We speculate that the upcoming album might have a song called Dream on it because they love to drop hints like this in videos prior to new releases. 🤔😏 (Yes, I moved this from the Twice video. Something's up with KZbin at the moment. If you're writing and the next video starts, that's where the comment ends up. 🙄)

Kinetic Manifesto was filmed in LA. I'm not sure about the original MV. The Grand Central Station was just before the pandemic in early 2020. Only they know how much they have sacrificed individually and collectively, mentally emotionally and physically, to accomplish what they have accomplished. Props to all who support them, help hold them together, and make their art possible. If they decided today to be done, to go live their lives, it would be enough. I do wish for them real, loving relationships and strong families if they want them. I pray they can avoid the ills that ravage the lives of so many other superstars. I pray that they can grow up and grow old doing whatever it is that brings them joy and fulfillment. I'd love to live to see them get together in 30 years or so for a jam session....

About ON the movie... I mean MV. The interpretation I like the most is this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3fal4eXgr14d9E Since I'm not religious myself I got to learn a lot of mmm tradition? Also the song is talking how they've caged themselves in this life (under the public eye, never stopping, etc) but they've done so knowingly and they'll try their best to keep their feet on the ground, so whatever comes at them (bring the pain on), they'll be ready. I see the vines/thorns in V's neck as something like "black veins" of sorts. Like something spreading through his body trying to get a hold of him and get him to succumb (the fame virus, maybe?). ^^ Cheers!

I know what you mean. Some of their videos are some serious sensory overload lol. We aren't going to mind if you watch the explanation videos off camera, sans reaction. They always give the viewer that 'Ahaaahh' moment, and we want to be sure that you don't miss a thing.

You are right. It is L.A. and this band and this dancers are well known in the US. Man, I wish I could dance the 10th of good of any of the rap line, hahaha. They are brilliant. How could RM and Suga could pull this out soooo good. I tthink it was like 3 a.m.?

The ON official MV is not related to BU. It only focuses on Dr. Carl Jung's Map of The Soul analytical psychology regarding the 3 archetypes the Self, the Persona, the Shadow and Ego.

There is a performance with a live band that they do on a football field like a half time show that you can look up. There’s also a documentary made about the recording of the music of this song that’s fantastic.

Please react to BTS (방탄소년단) 'ON' Commentary Film : Dialogue. It'll show you how the music for ON came about and where it was recorded. For the performance on Jimmy Fallon, they shut down Grand Central Station around 2am one morning and they filmed up until around 5am.

Hiya, just a note that you can use < and > to move frame by frame when the video is paused, like when you were trying to see the writing on tae's face it would have been easier

I edited out me trying to see it at that one part there was like 3 minutes of my trying, but frame by frame he was moving to much. then honestly I forgot about it as I moved further into the song so there were probably other shots I could find it

They did have a marching band for this for one of the award shows…. This was during the pandemic where they were at grand central and it wasn’t an option bc of…. Well ya know…. Pandemic lol obviously it would be nice to be able to do that all the time but it’s also pretty unrealistic for them to front and arrange for that to happen. It was 2019 and they were big but not as big as they are now… they gained insane following through the pandemic bc well ppl were online a lot more … and during the pandemic it would have been a ton of extra work and regulations at a time where it was not lenient and we didn’t even know what we were dealing with at the time.. and for them to put out these videos and performances for us … we just appreciated it and weren’t going to complain about not having a marching band at every performance lol the dancers are there bc the girl at the very beginning of “on kinetic manifesto” is the actual choreographer and she wanted her dance company to help fill out the performances and they really did and had a lot of fun with it. They had them at their ptd concerts as dancers for multiple shows and have maintained a great working relationship bc of these videos

Yes it is in LA. It is the. Sepulveda Dam, near Chavez Raven where Dodger Stadium is. Driving the 5 Golden Interstate Freeway will bring you right by it, with a northern direction bringing the best view.

Not going to lie, I've been an ARMY for four years, and I still don't get the symbolism of the official music video. There is a mind-blowing live performance of ON with a drum line, cheerleaders tumbling, and the whole nine yards from MAMA 2020. They performed at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul. Highly recommended!
