A less depressing theory is the 6th girl represents New Jeans fans. New Jeans keeps her company, entertains her, consoles her when she's down. But the problem is its not real. In side B she chooses the real world over them, but still she sometimes comes back to nostalgically remember her time as a K-pop fan, then its like they're there again.

Hi. Let me summarize without getting into too much detail. In Ditto, the MV is from point of view from a fan. The sixth girl uses ‘needs New Jeans to get through the sometimes tough high school life. She realizes this is a fantasy and begins to “come back to reality” and eventually loses touch with New Jeans. Just like as teens we idolize musicians or rather use their music to get through hard times and then sorta forget about them. In the end she watches the vcr tape which brings back memories of her childhood and appreciation of how they helped her. In OMG, the MV is pov of New Jeans, or specifically what fans “think” New Jeans are. Hanni as an iPhone (she’s known to be an all rounder “doing all things for everyone” sorta like an iPhone. She’s always there for us like an iPhone. Minji the “doctor”- fans think of her as the leader. Smart and takes care of everyone. Danielle-fans think of her as “always happy and the vitamin of the group”. In the MV you see her laughing at a tv with only static. She laughs and giggles at everything lol. She’s the only one sorta realizing they might be New Jeans. Hyerin- fans think she looks like a cat, nuff said. Hyein-fans think of her as a princess. So to represent the dichotomy of what the fans think the girls are like, and the reality of what they are, the director chose this storyline…five girls in a mental ward. Ingenious! Both MV’s are about the parasocial relationship between a fan and their idols. Just from different point of views.

Honestly I enjoy their performance videos more because you can truly appreciate both the vocals and their choreography skills at the same time. The MV’s make it harder to appreciate just how insanely talented they are!
