This is so helpful. We tried vacations in Austria and Germany and the skiing was so difficult for my kids as well as those who just wanted gentle slopes. So happy to have found this resort in France.

Brilliant. So pleased. Yes Alpe D'Huez has most of its greens helpfully around the resort. Great for kids and learning to ski. Also as they progress a good resort for intermediate skiers. I hope you like it.

We are coming here in March 25, my last trip was Austria and I really had my confidence shattered as there wasnt many runs suitable for my standard, so I decided maybe I was too old, I've only skied twice, first time when I was 57, I,m now nearly 60 and Ive bitten the bullet and going to give it another go. This video has renewed my confidence because the greens look ideal for my standard. Really looking forward to it!

@TheDazza2 I am going to Alpe D"Huez first week in March. I cut my teeth on the greens. There are, however, some easy long blues to progress onto. Enjoy your time in March

My partner had a terrible time at Tignes as a beginner going down 'Greens' that were anything but. Total confidence wrecker. Is the signposting accurate in Alp D'Huez and are the green runs around the village as ideal and gentle for beginners as described?
@georgemackley54322 жыл бұрын
Yes the main bunny lift is down one side of the village..the other main greens are easily accessed from one lift up.. I have a KZbin video showing more of the greens at Alpe D'Huez. I learnt at this resort so you should be able to gain confidence and then ski bigger hills with that same confidence.

I'm currently in Belle Plagne and the Blues are a joke, steep as anything and like reds in other resorts. The missis spent a year at Tamworth Snowdome and apart for the one green run she has been unable to ski with me. Total waste of holiday for her. Even I've struggled with some of the Blue runs.

@@adjo82 Nothing worse is there. I was appalled at some of the beginner from recommendations mountain staff in the office. Not sure if they deliberately signpost runs to 'keep the numbers up' for greens and blues to keep inexperienced skiers coming to the resorts or what. I should've done more research about where to go (like watching this video!). I've skied all my life and love it but my partner ended up being totally put off the whole thing to the point of tears and wanting to go home. Not what anyone wants from a holiday, I didn't even want to ski after that I just felt guilty about the whole thing. Hope you both at least get to enjoy some decent vino and nice walks to take some nice memories home!

@@adjo82 Oh dear so sorry to hear this. It doesn't help but fortunately doesn't spoil the apres ski and the mountain experience. It is a long road back but I recommend Alpe D'Huez as the best beginner and improving your skills place I have found skiing in France, Switzerland, USA and Italy..

As a complete beginner, I loved this green run. Wide, not too steep, really was a lovely run. There were a lot of beginner friendly runs in the whole resort Long enough to get some momentum going.

How is the snow at the moment? News is telling it's bad. Will be there next week.
@georgemackley54322 жыл бұрын
Wilco. I have downloaded the application On the Snow. I then put the resort I am looking at Alpe D'Huez and up come web cams and people's pictures. From that up top 3060m is good snow and there is a blue and red run up there. Also the weather shows snow next week which will improve things. These video were shot on Friday of our week after a week like yours of 2/3 days of snow. The greens at the bottom have those artificial snow machines so the green runs should be skiable if problems lower down the slopes. Have a real fun week though.

A lovely video which illustrates brilliantly how wonderful Alpe d'Huez is for beginners. But I'd much prefer to hear the skis on snow than a few repeated chords of extremely boring music. I turned the sound off.

Thank you. It is why I'm publishing ski run videos.
