Praise to this guy for giving repacks their original meaning back. I remember the first guy who came up with the idea of repacking on ebay, I think it was around 2009, I don't remember his name but he had a huge collection of ABU cards and he stated he was quitting mtg for good. He obviously loved his collection, and he wanted to hand it to people who would love it just as much. his aim was to give players the same feeling he had when he first opened them in the 90s. He also stated that repacking all of them took him and his family about a month of work. Ofc all the repacks sold out in about a week and the feedback was awesome. Then other people copied his idea, but quickly turned it into a way of getting rid of their bulk for money, twisting a good intention into a genuine scam. which is what 95% of the repacks are nowdays. Glad this guy is different.

I was repacking Pokémon cards in 5th grade (around 2000) and going to my friends houses to sell them. I think it was 3 cards for 50 cents and 1 out of every 3 packs had a rare. I’d then go and buy another pack of cards once I sold through and everyone was happy.

The easiest way I have found to tell the difference between Revised and Unlimited has to do with the artist name. If the name is printed on the bottom line it Revised. If it's printed in the middle, it's Unlimited.

Oh cool, don't think I ever noticed that and I've been playing on and off since 1994. The main ways I could tell were color and double border.

I have a large collection and I am contemplating repacks as a way to get rid of a lot of it, and you have been a guide of what to and not to do. This is the PROPER way to sell your collection/non-gradeables if you don't want to spend the years upon years it would take to piece it out amd sell 1 card at a time. It's def a true rarity in the repack market. Integrity 👍

Listening to the drama portion of your video now. I've watched you for about a year now. The first video I saw was where you pulled a Gaea's Cradle from that estate sale box and I was HOOKED. From reading evolving wilds, to the hype behind dope pulls, even as far as appreciating these older cards for what they are is why people stick around and watch your channel. Keep doing you, man. Great to see a legit selling for repacks. FYI, get a blue light or black light and that will show if cards have been inked. Also, the easiest way to tell Unlimited vs Revised is the double frame border around the picture and the text in the Unlimited set. You can look at this through a loop and easily see it if its not apparent visually (or if you are blind like me) ;)

It was nice to see the old cards again, I worked at a card shop back in the 90s and my personal collection was all alpha, beta, unlimited, arabian nights, legends, antiquities and the dark. So this brought back some happy memories.

The difference between ALPHA and BETA cards is the borders. ALPHA borders are Black and the edges are very very rounded. To be precise 2mm radius compared to the 1mm radius of all the other cards. Revised cards have a black border within the white, and Unlimited cards don't have a border that visible. Excellent video mate!!

Hell Yeah Joey! Started back in 95. If only we had a time machine to go back and tell ourselves to keep our cards and not sell them. Whenever I see a dad and his kid or kids at my local game store, I always tell the kiddos to never sell their cards...Again if only we could go back to August 5th 1993 and fill the Delorean with as many packs it could fit.

To check if your cards are unlimited you don't need to check the border just check the artist signature if it's higher it's unlimited if it's almost touching the border at the bottom it's revised

I bought a bunch of these, still waiting for them to arrive. I also bought 5 of the 7 antiquities/legends repack for $7, which I have received. Nothing crazy in those (a lot of glyphs from Legends) but I did get a nice looking COP: Artifacts and Detonate. Overall I got my value back and it was a fun open.

Revised cards always looked like crap to me. We used to get excited even back in the day (95-96-97) when someone would bring in commons/cheap Unlimited cards. Lands, commons, anything - we wanted it. Stone Rains and Fireballs were my favorites of the cards from Unlimited reprinted in Revised. The lands always looked cooler too with the Tap instead if the symbol. I wish I still had my cards from back then. I had a Beta Time Walk that was perfect and defiantly would of been worth getting graded. I still buy some Collectors/International cards if I find them cheap. I have a super nice Wheel Of Fortune I got for $44 a couple years ago, plus some Sinkholes and an autographed Ice Storm. I also picked a Unlimited Llanowar Elf for my mono green EDH deck.

Both pink packs had an alpha. It's probably how the seller makes sure that people who buy multiples don't get all the alphas. Another sign of a fantastic seller. Kudos to him!

If he was pulling crazy value and rares I would be suspicious too. However, the alphas and betas he opened were commons and not every pack had an alpha (I think 2 of the 9 were iirc).

I miss the art from the beginnings of MTG. I always wished WOC would get what artists are still available and do a special set with just their artwork. I would pay a premium for that set. I will always remember opening my first magic starter deck and pulling a force of nature and I was hooked. I started at revised and only wish cards before then were more available to purchase back in the day.

30:17 Now thats Alpha! Those others are Beta, you ll be able to tell easily when you see an Alpha card. I think they should of went with that design. The rounded corners make it harder to damage the edges.

His prices have gone way up......his only auction on ebay now for 7 vintage cards is now 140 bucks a repack.....a bit too rich for my blood unfortunately even though I would wager they are still worth it.....he claims every card is worth at least 10 bucks in the repack. Edit: I coughed up the money for one and now he is sold out again. Edit#2: My pack I bought came in today's mail and I was super impressed although shipping was super slow at just over 3 weeks to get the repack. Several nice cards including a Millstone from Antiquities, Library of Leng from Unlimited, Tawnos's Weaponry from Antiquities, Knights of Thorn from The Dark, Army of Allah from Arabian Nights, Gray Ogre from Beta, Blood Lust from Legends, Tobias Andrion from Legends, Scarwood Bandits from The Dark, and Leviathan from The Dark. The total value of all cards was about 165 bucks (for 140 invested) and that is much better than 99.9% of other repacks out there where you spend 15-20 bucks to get about 10 bulk rares worth about 5 bucks total.

While these are really awesome repacks, the seller's account states that there is an Alpha card in every pack, and that is absolutely NOT the case in this video. You didn't hit an Alpha card until the "Regeneration" around the 30-minute mark. Everything prior to that was a Beta card.

he pulled a braingeyser in that first video, this one was only 2 alphas out of the packs. revised cards are dirt cheap. there is nothing unrealistic about this, the seller is still making a profit based on the price of the packs

Funny thing watching this is that none of the pulls are big money cards, but all are legit vintage and the $1, $2, and $4 cards add up. Even the commons are becoming rarer and rarer, and the price will only go up. Even in MP or HP condition, these cards are money. Still a little pricey in my opinion, but I have no interest in collecting ABU cards. Good find Mr. Moss.

Color saturation and placement of the card title text. Most UNL text starts closer to the left border. Revised looks a bit more indented.

Ive bought a lot from this guy. The one downside is that there are a lot of duplicates with the revised and unlimited. I still enjoy the repacks but there is a better ebay seller that does better repacks. this guy "ncjam"
