Kingcrusher, I really appreciate your content, I'm making a notebook with Neural Network Chess playing styles based on all your videos now, especially the games that have fawn/thorn pawns installed too or attempt them. It's really amazing the time period we live in, and you are my hero.

I love the fireworks you documented @ 1:56 . "The Queen's protecting A-one here" - try and say that outside chess ;)

Can you show how the alpha zero play with the strong Caro-Kann defence? I sought but I not find a video about. According to the researches the Caro-Kann defence is the strongest defense played by alphazero.

Dear Kingcrusher. Thank you for your amazing channel. Your often philosophical approach to chess is really good. My favorite video is "Vishy Anand's beautiful Queen move will surely be treasured in Chess literature". Only critical point is that it often goes very fast in all variants. Looking forward to the next super video. Yours sincerely, Uffe

After bishop f2, why not rook capturing pawn on b2?

How come Alpha 0 and Leela never play Sicilian dragon? Has it been debunked?

These were predetermined openings of which the Dragon appears not to have been chosen.

Fischer would’ve probably agreed. I’d like to see a Dragon-Yugoslav Attack game from these engines though! That would be hella interesting.

AZ does not play Sicilian, French, etc. if given the choice. I guess it considers the Berlin Ruy Lopez to be better.

@Ze TheGame The engine plays what it thinks is best. The only way in which I think you have a point is that MCTS engines may have that tendency in some positions if they see a lot of lines are risky.

@@kingscrusher The fact that GM Matthew Sadler and one or two others were given access to AlphaZero recently to assist them in coverage of the human world championship, suggests to me that AlphaZero is being brought at least partially out of retirement. Perhaps you could persuade DeepMind to give you some access to AlphaZero, and use that access to pair it against Leela by feeding it Leela's moves?

@@reubenosman2288 Why not? It was DeepMind who sent Tryfon the 20 games that he's working his way through, so evidently they're aware that he exists and that he's influential enough to be worth cultivating. They're presumably aware that he has only good things to say about neural net-based chess AI's. Why would they not give him access to A0 if asked nicely? The only reason I can think of is if A0 is already back in mothballs, but even if that is the case it will surely be reactivated again someday. I don't think they'd be testing the waters by sending games out to influencers if they weren't considering doing something more in the future. Maybe the hardware is too much in demand for other purposes at the moment, so A0 can only be activated sparingly, but that won't always be the case. In all likelihood, TPU's will someday be as commonplace as GPU's are today, and that someday could be sooner than you'd expect.
