Breh...look at the circumstances. The dude is all about fish....he almost never doesn't mention fish. He keeps you from his room even at the end of the game when he is next to his car and about to leave. Why? The lake monsters don't dare approach you when he's with you, why? He *acts* scared to get you to leave faster, why? To keep you from ever going into that room. To keep you from seeing what he does to those fish. Those cops from that one ending probably had the real horror play out in front of them when they entered that room.

If you refuse it, then the friend gets upset and goes fishing alone at night. When the proceeding day arrives, and you walk to his door he starts to speak in broken sentences. When you leave the cabin, the ending ensues. When the friend drops you off at home, you try to walk to the side window to thank him and notice his eyes are of a dead fish. Sedna enchanted him...and he drives back to the cabin.

I saw one of the comment explaining Ending C. If you want to play the game by yourself and try to find Ending C, please stop reading. So Ending C apparently happened when you reject the friend's offer to go night fishing. You went to sleep and when you wake up in the morning your friend is there, but seems unresponsive. He had a face like he has seen something he shouldn't have. He drive you home but he was verbally unresponsive. You both never talked again, and you never know what happened to him at that night
