So I got a set box of this at my LGS that, with tax, was like $10 or so more than Amazon has ever been. I couldn’t say no. Mine was an absolute house. To your point on lands - I pulled the full cycle all 5 in the box. I also got a regular style copper dragon (last pack - it was epic). I also got a couple of the other dragons in the other colors (brass and gold if I recall). I pulled all the 3 planes walker commanders too. The box was an absolute hit. Like 8 mythic total. Almost every useable rare I got the displaced kitty and more.

That was such a relief after that Epilogue opening it’s unreal. Much more spice, unpredictability and value. I feel like the List slot really helps too. Even the worthless cards are fun because they’re different and older, so you get something random instead of the same cards over and over.

This tbh, same problem that Commander Masters has, I'm a D&D guy and I went big on AFR and was looking to do the same on Baldur's Gate but I was having work done on my home at the time it was coming up for release and sat on my cash in case there were any surprises during the home renovation, I got lucky and dodged a bullet but a lot of the group I play with got burned by this set. That said because it got panned I've been picking up draft boxes whenever I see them cheap, I love drafting it, like you said a good fun set just over priced.

That first box looks like it might have at least broken even harder to say for two, so that's something. The kamigawa was a blast from the past and might be my favorite block. The set isn't in a bad position, but it's hard to say if it'll move up in value in the near term without a catalyst.

It should be under $100 it's a garbage set with only 18 packs in a box there's normally 30 packs in a set booster box.... at 18 packs it's slightly more than half a normal box. it's overpriced if anything.

Agreed. The hive mind got mad cause it didn't have enough chase reprints but the new cards in this set were fantastic. I absolutely love the dragon cycle, black market connections, kindred discovery, displacer kitten, and a bunch more. Plus there were some great reprints in this set. Yeah, it didn't have the lotus, dockside, or mana crypt etc but whatever. For what it was, the set was great and some of the commander decks were pretty solid. I'm happy with CLB even if it isn't the biggest financial powerhouse.

My hot take is baldurs gate was the best commander set ever made. Brand new mechanics, initiative is so fun in commander, draft environment is a blast, so many playable uncommons and commons in a pack, so even if u dont pull money you still have good cards. So many cool new commanders, and I keep going back to this set to add new cards to my commander decks.

I dont think ppl realise how incredible rare the showcase foils that arent in english or other languages that dont have collector boosters are. Specially korean foils which only exists en set boosters.the odds of pulling even a single rare foil showcase are extremely small, to not to talk about the mythic pool. Also quite big pool in them. Just throwing it out there.

I've opened a LOT of Baldur's Gate set boosters. Roughly 1 in 3 boxes has all 5 of the lands in it, the other two MIGHT have one, two if you hit one in the foil slot. Really poorly sorted.
