​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​@@xboxmonkies1 or idk, maybe you *should* be concerned when a $50 - $60 etb goes up to $150 before it's even released. i dont think that's sustainable, but because the market conditions are so good right now, a lot of people are failing to consider the volatility of the market and the possibility of a price correction. this is when people make mistakes. like everybody pre-ordering the new journey together set as soon as it was announced. has there ever been a set which sold out of pre-orders for booster display boxes at msrp? people are irrational because of the market were in, and they are doing things they wouldn't normally do. we have no idea what the future for that set looks like. they may print that set into the ground, nobody knows. people used to think long and hard before making a decision. now everyone is just trigger happy for each new release.

I went through the Covid boom as well and I'm very much looking forward to the next crash/decline. This hype stuff is fun for those selling into it but it's honestly exhausting reading about the next item/card that skyrockets lol. It's much more fun to buy when everything is chill and able to be bought for a reasonable price. Listen to the man and take his words to heart. If you think you are a tcg investor but lack the discipline to not rip the packs and products you decided in advance to leave sealed, you are better-off keeping tcgs as a hobby. If you buy at the top and panic sell in a market correction, tcg investing is going to sap capital from you that should have stayed in your IRA, 401k, or brokerage account. Know thyself.

The market wanted to explode sv1 but the pull rates changed everyone's opinion. Some people decided it was the gimmick but it was actually pull rates now the pull rates are making the chase cards rare and expensive people are jumping back in. This started around temporal but didn't get the markets backing until twilight. Then the introduced a top of era set in surging and people have gone bananas. It will be interesting to see how pokemon handles it. If they play it right and don't have massive reprints to try and cool demand this could last for quite a while.

We don’t have the actual data yet because there’s just not enough to do it for most people, but these pull rates are likely too far in the difficult direction. The beginning of S&V was like 5/10 difficulty, then TEF was around 7/10 and this is closer to 9/10. The scale between 7-9 is way bigger than 5-7. We need 8/10 for the perfect balance honestly. Lest all there is in the end is investors and scalpers selling to each other over and over until there’s nothing left to eat once the mouth reaches the neck, lmao.
