Keep these kinds of videos going because they inspire a lot of people (me being one of them). Preface all of this with as a canadian all mentioned prices are in CAD I bought 1 complete set of 2013 for myself at retail (Big box MSRP) + three extra decks (Oloro, Derevi, and Marath) at Retai (Big Box MSRP)l as christmas gifts back in 2013. I heard about how Mind seize was becomming rare and valuable so one time on a whim I picked up one extra copy of Mind seize at MSRP and then the crash happened. That one Extra sealed Mind Seize deck is sitting in my closet now. Goldfish tells me its like $69 average and I paid somewhere in the market of $40 CAD. But I do agree with you on the long game. I'm into an NES megaman set for just under $50 because I bought them in 2002... Now 5 alone is $100 and the prices keep going up slowly over time. I didn't buy them as an investment I bought them to play and to have fun with but I love knowing that my $50 has grown to at least $200 Same with the 6 Doubling season I own which I paid $15 for 4 of back in 2008 and the other two were random trades / a modern masters pull. or the Alpha Goblin Baloon Brigade I put in my Common/Uncommon Cube which has shot way up from when I got it.

Hi Rudy, long time viewer from Sweden. I must say that i have learned a lot from your videos when it comes to Magic investing and Magic in general. From what I've learned from you and my own analysis I have built up a nice collection of cards that I think is a safe investment which will give me a nice return when I eventually sell them. You say that people dont like this kind of videos but I must say that I love them, I think they are the most interesting and "in depth" analyzed kind of videos when it come to Magic. So if you ask me, keep 'em coming cause they are interesting as hell! Keep up the good work Rudy!

when i did stock trading a few years ago i exclusively traded in videogame company and electronic stocks because i knew that i could exploit the falls after the products didnt sell as well as people who bought high thought so i kept buying low and selling just after the new big game or apple product was announced and then when the new call of duty did poorly i bought as much as i could get and the 3 years or so that i did that i never made less than 50% higher than my investment on the stocks i bought. its kinda weird to see the same patterns in magic finance, but i see that the way people react to financial troubles are similar no matter what product it is that is having trouble

60$ a box for a standard set is probably below the distributor price. No store or individual buying from distributors gets such a low entry price, I’ve seen friends running large store chains who order multiple pallets of each standards set buying boxes from players for up to 65$ as 65$ is below their purchase price.

I feel like there's an illusion to this whole investor thing. Yes I expect a set to *slightly* increase in price over time, but the overinflation is totally to blame for investors who have literally never played a game of Magic in their life. There are good and bad investors, and I really wish there was some type of way to gatekeep people from buying sets, like you need to have some verification to say you legitimately know the product you're handling.
