Happy 설날!!!!! The food looks really good😀😀 This is not really related to new years but in Korea if your a foreigner and someone asks you your age would you say your international age or korean age??
@alphakoreanclass6 жыл бұрын
When a foreigner asks me my age, I want to hide it as much as possible. Haha. Usually I ask them again. Korean age or international age? Since I am younger in the international age, I inform foreigners of it if possible. Ha ha ha.

It used to be on China too. My family left China 100 years ago and we still use this system .

Happy lunar New Year 🧧 I enjoyed watching this video. I would say hold on to your culture. I come from a country where we were colonized and made into English clines. We don’t even have a national dress and it sucks. Thank you for sharing.

I don't think I've ever thought about how precious it is to have traditional clothes. After reading your story, I felt that I should value Korean tradition more. It is true that Hanbok is expensive, but I want to buy one because there are many comfortable and pretty hanboks these days.

Does both christian and buddist celebrate new year offering traditional fruits on table in front of ancestor?

@@alphakoreanclass oh wow I am only seeeing this response just now! YT algo hahah. Yees please. Did you get your Hanbok? Look at how fantastic Korean culture is spreading. Happy New Year again :).

@@purpleworld3038 Christians do not do traditonal offerings. Some Christians who also have their own traditional customs (colonisation forced christianity on many) miight do offerings.

Chinese people have been celebrating the Spring Festival for more than 4,000 years. The time of the Spring Festival is calculated by the Nanjing Zijin Observatory according to the Chinese calendar and the phases of the moon in central China,and is called Chinese New Year. If the Chinese New Year is celebrated in other countries on the same day as the Chinese New Year, then it is rightly called Chinese New Year, but if it is not celebrated on the same day as the Chinese New Year, then please follow your own calendar to calculate the time of the New Year ‘s time in your own country. All in all, please respect traditional Chinese culture, it's not as simple as changing the name of a holiday.

Then when you use a calendar in your country, do you call it the Italian calendar? Do you call New Year's greetings "happy italian new year"?
@darealmj21632 жыл бұрын
Please reply. Why Koreans don't celebrate the actual day of New Year which is January 1? Because in my country January 1 is a big thing.
@szp8952 жыл бұрын
Because lunar new year is from Chinese New Year tradition. In Chinese culture, lunar calendar is way more important than the modern calendar. We celebrate the 1st Jan every year but less important like a normal small festival and that’s it.
