I like that Rebecca wore stripes to fit with the rest of the band. Also like how she’s hitting those high notes with absolutely no visible effort. Russell has a lovely voice that he’s maintained well over the years, and he holds his own in the duet. But Rebecca, wow… goes to show what serious vocal training can do.

I bet Russel doesn't get it often that someone sings like 2 octaves over him :D

That was fantastic! Rebecca Sjöwall has an incredible voice and it sounds so perfect with Russell's voice. Wow! Btw. did you notice how she looks at him? She likes him :-) And I'd love to have such an incredible voice too. Like this I could meet Russell.

They're not gone yet! We'll continue to have "A Steady Drip Drip Drip*" from them for a while. *Sparks 24th studio album, released May 2020. (Including 'The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman') And add to that 'Two Hands, One Mouth', live album, only Ron and Russell Mael in Europe. Also the FFS project, Franz Ferdinand + Sparks, self named album, FFS. And we're eagerly awaiting the release of the musical movie ANNETTE, staring Adam Driver and Marion Cottilard, directed by Leos Carax.

She IS an opera singer. Their technique is amazing. I have a neighbor, former opera singer with an international career behind her. She is 84 of age, rarely sings nowadays. Sitting across the kitchen table from her, I made the mistake to ask her to sing something. She did. A part from La bohème. The power in her still beautiful voice was overwhelming! I felt like I had an instant face lift from the pressure. OH MY GOD! Sitting approx four foot away it nearly hurt my ears! I have later read that an opera singer's voice is trained to be steady and keep a tone at 100 dB!! One hundred decibel. That's loud. When my hair fell down on my shoulders again and my cheeks popped back in front of my ears, I asked her how she still could have such a powerful voice, she tapped herself on her midriff, "It's all from here" she clucked. My sincere advice is; don't stand too close to an opera singer who is about to sing!!

She honestly doesn't look terribly thrilled to be there plus she's drowning him out. They really don't look very comfortable together... not even looking at each other. Damn, Let me get up there and sing with Russell!!!

What???! Honestly, I would be happy if I stood there and she did not turn to me while singing. Read my reply to Shaun Pierce. And they DO look at eachother. A lot. It wasn't a love duet from a classic opera, so why sing in eachothers faces?
