Often there good friends I've seen Glen play here in NYC a few times. And after Also Sami Yaffa did a tour of Japan playing his bass in the Waldos Sami is how I found out Walter passed last week of which I'm so sad He was so nice and His band one of the few last tickets left now in NYC were the music and time you'd have was a guaranteed great time He still has that dam tie from the Heartbreakers 💔 That's kinda sweet

Wow, to see Mike Ness play second fiddle is kind of weird. But it was an opportunity to play classic songs with Walter, Glen Matlock and Clem Burke from Blondie. WTH

He plays the Johnny Thunders role in the show I watched. That certainly isn't second fiddle.

Walter's gone, now, and Mike Ness looks like an old thug, kinda like your humble narrator. We've done got old. The Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earle" is pretty much this same song, with different lyrics. He had style. Matlock, well... punk royalty, at this late date. Walter was class, to the very end.

@frankcantley45 жыл бұрын
it used to be lower east side graffiti junkies etc. it went: "DTK LAMF" Down to kill like a mother fucked. Which usually translated as a bad dope Jones or full blown dope sick. later just integrated into punk lexicon referring to going after what you want. yada yada so on...

Thanks for reminding me that you and Johnny introduced the UK secene to smack and fucked it all up. Thanks a fucking bunch Walter, ha ha!!
@matthewjdouglas64713 жыл бұрын
That's why punk died. Americana couldn't handle the fact that British punk was superior so they got many on the tackle. Hahaha joke by the way. Smack was every in the UK already. Had been for time. People were already chasing the dragon and shooting up. Rest in peace Walter. Its so sad that Walters passed over now. He was a true newyorker with attitude and played wrote classic rock and roll tunes that I still listen too today. I got lamf back in 1995 from a record shop in London. It looked second hand and used but it was brand new disc. Johhny thunder Jerry Billy syl and the young Mr murcia. All gone and all too sad. But we have all the music they gave us.
@johnvolume3384 Жыл бұрын
Punk did not stop with smack but because of lack of mainstream commercial success.The Ramones never had a hit,The Sex Pistols ,now we had that horrible question(Viviane Westwood said that Rotten had nothing more to say ,so no second album),The Jam and The Damned,they had confidential success. So who's the winners? In the US,Blondie(are they really punk),and in the UK,The Clash,but here's come the smack.If their drummer was more let's all make friends than like a m..f...,maybe The Clash,or The Rolling Clash would became a hit machine. Anyway,for me ,LAMF is the number one in rock History.But what killed the Heartbreakers ?it's money,lack of money,because no commercial success.Johnny Thunders became that chic tramp addict r'n'r guitarist. And Walter Lure became a broker.And ,among all those rock'n'rollers(with some Ramones)he was the only one to buy an appartment in NYC.

Imagine seeing Jimmy Page and Johnny thunders jamming.
@MrGiorgioud3 жыл бұрын
Actually, in 1972 Jimmy Page thought that Johnny Thunders was going to be the next big guitar hero and sort of took him under his wing for a bit, sending limousines to pick him up, giving him passes for gigs, that sort of thing....
